Job Description:

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

, d" ?( [7 v2 O5 k• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

) X6 G3 d% D& M, |9 U' h• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

2 U7 u2 h- l: Q/ j• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

% M0 f) \8 k0 o& x0 y$ D! a• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

) D- d, c" R; t  k• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

' ~9 l' q& v, ~. d5 J7 Z; A• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

* L( K2 z8 J! Q* v" c/ s• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

4 ^: b- p( P& n• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

( B5 F$ y# c$ o6 R1 N• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

) X8 N3 w1 D1 T8 L! P6 s• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

• Demonstrated investigative, problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills.

  N- f, d# M% U: u) s• Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.

-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.

3 O, q  ~+ g) W2 h*The contractor will not be required to do any climbing This is for a large LTE Expansion in Alberta.
