In China, since the kid has a chance to go back to the other parent and grandparents on the other parent side and is 'educated' by relatives, other neighbours and so on, the kid might think a biological parent is more important and beloved than a step parent. But here in Canada, not many people surrounding the kid would like to say so and neither does the kid have much chance to stay with relatives. : s8 Y) b P- x+ `' W) p- U
6 }/ {9 s* a" g' k# R" RIn your friend's case, if she is the only legal guardian, this is the best! Plus, the little kid is just 2 years old, the kid will forget everything that happen during her first four or five years.

A reminder: If your friend's ex-husband is also a legal guardian, the court order may not allow your friend together with her daughter to move to another city far away from Vancouver without the approval from her ex-husband because it may stop the kid's father from seeing the kid regularly. |
