Responsibilities and Tasks* [, ?3 O# g. v/ s8 K) r

( n9 W( ~: G9 [0 [1 ^" n/ U- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment 8 o' X! R% D: S
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements$ u3 q% d+ D+ r3 c1 b
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
3 u. q0 Y- I" ?2 r2 Z- Select type and size of pipe required
5 w/ t' ~' D" Z8 @- j- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
" z b" ]* `0 c9 Y5 h5 @- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system) C1 q( |% L5 ?" b- ~! h f
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems

- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system! ?+ j7 B% Q2 i9 p- N
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

Required Qualifications

- Completion of secondary school
) F+ V7 [0 ]" r6 e. [ \6 r0 R( \! R- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
, a6 J. t1 |8 h) h& Q. _- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals7 ], c3 f# G+ c9 N4 v( W; j
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
+ t& `# [# @0 O$ |( |0 }- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset

- A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as an industrial Electrician6 M9 p- U; N7 A4 A2 x8 Q) O4 W
- Trade certification in Saskatchewan or Interprovincial Red Seal

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
