Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

[0 _2 ]5 n! xPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. {0 r/ l0 j3 _) s% S

* Y! W; {( J) n6 h6 Z' e• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person+ L2 s; b' N0 A/ L8 x( {
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST1 C+ S# D0 ?4 L6 D0 B
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
1 |% S7 C) F7 m; [• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter3 y; Z. Z4 t5 F
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
0 k5 C5 @4 @7 m8 i0 X, b7 P• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker0 F" u$ H8 m3 u8 H+ j3 t
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events8 }6 I6 e1 p8 w# ^4 A4 h1 K) e
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events/ ] A+ O4 v/ C1 e
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean' r9 m2 k, N( D: I/ I6 S7 S
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
, ]! O7 h4 W) ] g1 W9 J• Maintain front counter service files% o1 ^6 Y7 U" Y5 A
• Perform general office duties as assigned9 C3 C7 M/ j2 c; G5 v" S
• Report to ISP Program Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1 L3 v* p u: y! y• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
, T4 e$ g; R2 k' G, B• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
. ~( o* {, W) O6 w4 _: X; E* D* Y• Good English writing and oral communication skills
, N! j9 m. x- a2 y, M• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients, R' ]7 e: C( j+ e' _& R
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds0 g' I" X V k9 U" p. n
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
% T+ n% C* F6 ? ~• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment& X* Y% J/ A. Z; ?
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
