Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

L( t: W- ]% M; o• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
& O6 Y$ ]6 I6 V9 _9 t0 Z. m5 P# y• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST; r- g' y% j, F7 ^2 _; p
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
4 u* i. D7 m7 x- E( G! F6 @, j• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
/ }, G; e/ s' a8 M• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents( @6 R2 B! U$ J" U/ X ~+ U5 l/ R
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker& P3 [& M2 L, D, p$ E" J% v
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events7 ~' U: `( H, B
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events

• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
+ Y5 E$ y) L! Q7 t* E8 a( R8 ~• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset

• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients6 ^; F; z$ W- }
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook" E9 T$ U5 X0 ]+ J( d+ k
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately / g/ `! c; p8 Y }) [# Z
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds P& @3 N, i1 V) Y+ m
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:# I% g7 k( t1 q R, {& b
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
+ P* e9 O( g" P& O; M& S• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
: o! y* m8 l( N( g2 c) m• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism5 e2 {) C9 ]* c( A% e
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
