Edmonton police have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man with a weapon offence, following several recent gun complaints in the southwest community of Riverbend.! F: [4 V! G' G% X

A male wearing a balaclava and carrying a handgun was spotted by a pedestrian walking in the area of Falconer Road and Riverbend Road at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.. `# b4 a8 c, P, Q) C
9 Z+ [1 y0 p4 N" Z( HPolice arrested the man later in the afternoon at the Terwillegar Recreation Centre, after receiving a tip from a resident.

, v: H' J2 N0 K% Y& t& lA search of the man's home turned up a BB pistol and balaclava matching the description given by witnesses. The man is charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

A man wearing a balaclava and holding a handgun was seen in the area on two previous occasions — the first at 4 p.m. last Friday near the Snow Valley ski hill parking lot and on Saturday on the Terwillegar Drive footbridge. * F, M+ u" m$ ]4 U) ?% u3 ^
