To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

. z+ `; C" F! v, oThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:5 J& ?2 }# L1 q7 T. D. e
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;2 g# l: `/ c! V e/ k- Z% q
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;: z' V9 I' P8 `! b
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;. P5 {& p$ M, P- Q: [ Y
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 1 H) S2 b' C+ J
• Risk Management and succession planning;

2 I# x/ T `$ k7 H8 [ k* k3 m6 DProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
* M* ^' B5 O" N• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
5 A7 e/ }4 y& y4 u. g1 A• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
4 T$ C2 b4 |* J9 X3 r d, A• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;6 h0 v2 y& u7 ]7 l8 ?2 l
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities0 h, v. }* \, U* R& [, M
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
0 y& k0 ~* ^. k* O3 \ \/ Q• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
Y0 `, x) D" s• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;2 H4 k) d ?5 C: [$ m
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

9 {# S3 [3 l* T9 @7 K• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
, |' x# V* T. q* q. z) t" I• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
. I' \3 K! ?# M" a ]: a2 P2 s• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; & O: B/ g; C2 D9 ^
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
6 F7 h8 [0 C6 ]) f/ K: Q• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
$ V1 q5 p& O4 k. Y! n• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
( x6 l' e Y; b; u6 T1 Z• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;5 ^; [! I8 o9 i" k
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
7 ? \7 l0 j# L! |0 c/ i" Y9 z8 ?• Current valid drivers license;
3 ?! F6 w* G- v9 H8 R/ c: B• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;2 N7 [8 J" D1 X$ W
