% u/ L) v' S% Y( d0 h7 n: r& WTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;" S. O$ l/ l& \, r
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
% h- r/ R1 d0 Y3 O6 Z• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
0 n! V% P4 u2 G• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; . r" d5 N! ]$ x# w
• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;9 t9 e$ O$ y1 a1 r+ x% x
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;$ N* V& I2 ?9 n D
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;1 @' V* T8 V5 z5 l$ j x
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities2 J) w4 Y+ L$ E' ?
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;4 V+ U. u7 f$ V
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;; O, J. K" [. \) n; n3 N
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
" l1 p F5 b4 D4 J$ g y% d• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
d% K: H2 v0 x• Degree in communications, human services or related field;1 ^: N/ |+ V" a# _
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
4 ^* r* B9 R! J4 I& h9 A, J• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
}8 e- m+ @4 [' m' }6 j& s( z• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;# ~/ C& L4 u' b5 g
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
4 x7 ?( Z5 M1 y& `/ R• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;0 }, } E6 f8 z3 d1 t
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;8 @8 C* q5 |4 f, C5 X
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
5 P5 j: x/ P: U5 H+ y# X; h+ q• Current valid drivers license;' Z o: Q6 D) y! o9 \/ b1 n0 m& [
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
