1 e3 |9 @8 t0 j- X" C9 i9 [To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

9 D( e9 _6 K) t6 M6 T9 ^7 D9 QThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

8 c, y2 s& I* X0 t• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;4 O' _3 i1 d* d, r
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
; y+ d! s* T9 ?) m' K/ T3 `• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;+ O3 U4 [- Q$ N9 B6 Z5 b- F& C
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; + P; c" I* e* Z) H
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: . b: D/ ~. z! ]/ \) R( Y# I
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;4 d4 P# L) o/ M H
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;4 I* y* x# C6 H$ b! r
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;# x! e6 ~4 s5 v) _3 A
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
7 [& M2 ^; P5 L: I% H• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
" {/ J6 f3 D" {! M• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
3 A9 D' c9 S8 q0 U• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
& Z6 N( `+ T- ~$ y• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
$ O, Z7 U# e5 @2 D5 D3 L• Degree in communications, human services or related field;, O$ J6 b e- o. {" g3 E6 m
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
$ K3 S6 \; V3 |8 A1 k7 X& Q* T• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 9 f! f S) O3 P
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
2 N1 h* V* F$ c( a• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
$ B$ j6 r4 E$ ]. u m8 \8 L9 d% y: r• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;) q0 I* B3 v, R0 v8 ^8 [) f' e
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;$ R6 i$ @5 z- {7 j' s L
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;7 d9 i" E% T" C: U- o7 T
• Current valid drivers license;6 \' x/ a% p7 U& e
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
/ F- y4 j& g! E: ]• Conflict resolution skills;
}+ N9 P2 M6 P/ M" [2 s4 `: P• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
