Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project% f  f- `; r- Q: n. w3 }) R

Job Purpose:( g' y; M4 C  i3 j" w/ A
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

8 M6 [% R- a, Z1 j- y( E9 H0 u* {Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
' Q* s! W5 @- K$ B) w' P% E1 R•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
" m& p7 Y0 T( S' }" C' v) J•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;3 `5 z% A4 a2 T2 X3 ~0 V: f
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;* d, z+ @, l( |/ K
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ! W' h, x! N9 Q! c0 l) o
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

: U1 }9 w' r- i& jProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:  
4 y3 P% r8 H: ?# c1 s, W•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;+ v3 K- r/ F: w8 ~
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;8 D  o% q% e" k3 c2 @& q/ [, k
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
% ~/ V0 R' P' m•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities$ D- D0 k% P& G! v+ U" ~% L" g: b
•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
! p% S( _6 {' M0 w( k•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;" U$ J' Z8 R! {8 W
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;- x% W, Z4 i5 {9 B, h( p
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;# O. d0 n* r1 t) |5 K" }# n9 }

7 @3 g4 ?* g6 V! x) L- R9 q1 OQualifications:' J7 e" n0 S# P  n6 C
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
) A  H# C8 r2 K& }* K: _  O•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
( |( U8 |* y, |" A•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
; b2 X# S4 \1 T# ~/ \•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
" K6 u' n  e3 e+ M$ V0 P•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.  N: C0 z* s" G3 Z% j
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
+ ?7 k6 |& F: t& W" x•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;3 L0 P, c/ G1 o0 i( g: D
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;1 Y8 [9 j' s1 y+ s) q- V7 a
•        Current valid drivers license;! v+ c. G0 J$ G+ i
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
$ A& o$ Y5 S- s" }' [6 J# ^•        Conflict resolution skills;- g" T+ ]: N4 @+ n3 C. I* @2 w4 q7 E
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
& q  h! I+ v( _4 r( T•        Committed and passionate about children;& p* J# c, t3 [2 k& Q
