To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ) S; l" Q- ^' {( u) [

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
. T$ u7 y' T* C. G" F• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
; } p( o+ P2 D: X* o, W$ U% x• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
& B( W u) o/ [- o" v6 `9 f• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ( L ` h, b* _2 U6 |& X4 C# p8 Z
• Risk Management and succession planning;

, z; X& k& k7 ]+ V7 @Program Duties and Responsibilities include: # z2 W* s: v" v, m; K1 ~
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;2 j. i5 d/ Y) w4 e( _
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
" b8 s- t& O# y; v/ J( p$ g5 {• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;5 y6 ]" i' z6 n- }) `
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities0 Z: ^" _- }. @1 J; C0 ?. s) A0 {
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;9 y% c! m% m r
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
# {( [& y5 S/ I3 R6 N+ B• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:
* ^8 G7 w& b* Z6 x, x8 |. z2 S1 Q• Degree in communications, human services or related field; Q* a3 h+ F& G# q
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
+ q+ k: v3 h. ]% h; `% | t• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
) |0 I5 N. x) G- X• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
2 t4 _3 T, ]! U# G! K/ h& h9 {• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
/ V1 x, f; J9 Y/ F8 I, @• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
, X. D: c( [, x• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;5 t# d, J0 P3 E( y
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
, f$ ?5 q7 x6 L' n• Current valid drivers license;
$ i2 O6 C) \9 [4 U& \3 A0 d• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;' P3 p8 W8 |6 J: D- L
• Conflict resolution skills;
( z. E5 ^2 |5 M3 D1 Y• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
