Job Purpose:
$ J X* l" L- qTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 1 e7 Q( y) L9 a- o1 \

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;. I9 Q' ~0 t. M: n$ \
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;3 T( D3 [) F( W8 p: P
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
: ?$ X C$ f" t! F/ U$ B7 O• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 8 Q" F6 x$ @( r# N; R( T
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
) X8 Y( R2 \0 U. ?• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child; C# z0 P) d( ~9 t% G2 Q
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
+ a1 X9 Y2 \$ W% v) @• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
5 U9 y+ G6 ~3 Y• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities g* ^( m }8 {$ j- E
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
/ t+ l* i% d5 ]; g% _) }7 L• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;) ` l4 b) w4 S- p6 u* n; a9 f+ C
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;! }* e6 E h) r& `4 v1 G
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;0 p3 W. L- i2 }1 ]9 ^9 l8 K9 C

• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
: k2 G" A' q$ J$ F0 E• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
% R/ `3 a" [2 ^" k2 i4 v• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; , s! Z- |+ X; c9 N( ]* R, ?: a
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;# f& P- G% z( W5 R8 Q
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
( V" Z! f/ v/ a: I% O• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
/ s' U- `8 ?7 _• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;4 Q% @3 N4 ~. k: Q
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;5 U" S$ n u' [- A
• Current valid drivers license;) V, L8 E+ h# ?+ e% d5 t% s: R
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;! t Z& _/ i# h; E% U/ m2 m
• Conflict resolution skills;
9 n% {* [$ u r' L4 C% U• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
) I. j& I* g4 i9 J8 s; G• Committed and passionate about children;- x; @: }1 Y, }" l" U- _# _) C

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
