CALGARY — A teen girl was taken to Foothills Hospital in potentially life-threatening condition Monday morning after a head-on collision that involved a "complicated extrication" near Chestermere.! t8 w' j0 Q* _! L. u

At around 8:30 a.m., RCMP, Chestermere fire crews and Calgary EMS personnel were called to Highway 791 just east of Calgary after a pick-up truck and smaller car crashed head-on, said EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux. L2 p/ Y3 ~+ I4 k2 d9 }* g1 y9 t

The female driver in her mid-teens, who was the lone occupant of the small car, sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries and needed to be extricated from the vehicle by fire crews.; r( R) A; P1 _, g, N2 c( s5 E

STARS Air Ambulance was called to take the girl to the Foothills Hospital.
