Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- provide volunteers to update membership database% H3 ]4 G1 n, t, m7 y) c
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers$ D% ^3 z7 t k3 X. Z* w
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties4 E2 X9 W# C7 [0 D# U: `- _! ?( V
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
& z* ]8 D( m/ a# f1 T- provide volunteers for various programs 4 |3 X' i! w2 h% c! S) j/ u$ g
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual6 U( F% \6 W9 g
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
* ~* x+ `* P: u4 N- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities# F3 Q6 O. b& h/ [
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services( ]3 i3 |& f; c) S! t: O
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
\& }4 g1 u4 r5 Y) W& F- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed; N' Q, t- P$ J$ D
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed9 [% X% ~$ h5 [/ T0 o, ?
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)6 @; m+ O2 W5 |+ v A3 t% S/ F3 m: j
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 5 t; f/ k7 V# u2 D
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
: q/ d2 I9 e( \1 ~9 t" j* m# z- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
+ a, q m# R9 O0 O* J% z# H1 @4 B- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers % x# l! i& L; ~ A) f
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis $ `3 P' q; B o. h7 b5 c9 [
- evaluations & k' l; }- H. R8 }- b+ \- R0 G
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications% k3 R$ Z5 i+ P5 m [
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
& l+ |6 I* _( n; n- good oral and written Chinese and English skills2 w7 f3 A1 N& H5 b2 A
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
; R! C! @% j8 [( N+ @% Z9 ~- leadership skills. `0 J" b4 t0 y4 u- A% |# J# O& ?* D
- management and supervision skills
