Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database
6 K$ s. j) g; @$ s6 a- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers9 O3 d8 G# g/ G3 L
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
1 x0 O+ i( J; K' y4 D6 m, z! P1 e- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties/ {1 u, q6 |7 h7 a4 U- i
- provide volunteers for various programs , S3 q+ e; T6 I7 G
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual' }3 d6 U m: I: X7 R
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation# b3 Q4 q) n2 a" }6 P/ }/ {- S
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
5 u0 n% O7 N+ W: {% K/ z- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
# p- n7 G8 K w7 ~. d% X/ C4 p- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports8 U1 b5 |! K/ q1 S
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed' c: G% w8 H0 M( } E% h
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed( f) R1 Q4 ^% y J# R; L' \
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required): p; e2 s$ P& d( ^
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 8 F) F5 U2 h4 X& j( f$ W- X
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
, l" g- v! f: o1 d, J- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ) S8 _9 P' u; y. J+ \
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 4 Q9 b( M8 t2 K% C" o
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
# N6 f* M2 d+ g- evaluations 8 a( S/ A% p8 m
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre$ U8 m$ P1 |% W+ f7 R
8 q3 S5 D5 v( _4 W, IQualifications( }- p% Y D0 X2 I2 Z f
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education6 z" B5 \8 s4 O1 Y. E {0 e7 s
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills, M# L4 r, c# K1 J. q4 m4 i4 W' S
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
