Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person" \; e6 i, I( W3 E# \: y
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
) I0 d& H9 J# A; w• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
0 g, v( L$ P( z9 f• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter$ v9 O9 }1 }1 i
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
7 f. n) v* q" J, v4 ]$ \• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker/ N' t% l2 m8 b
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events; k* d1 [1 C) o8 n/ K. `5 E4 t- a% n2 x! y
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
; ~$ Y/ K3 R. S" s% B3 z6 n• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
, W8 M0 A7 Z- p' g4 W• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters8 m" w" r- w! {4 p
• Maintain front counter service files+ v% G1 U$ L2 p0 Q9 y3 t% x. R
• Perform general office duties as assigned

• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
8 ^: X! K* i: ~: b• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset1 Z+ }6 a5 w9 ?: @
• Good English writing and oral communication skills# O0 `& B- R9 R; W8 E% R
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
# U% k# g0 `, c• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook* R2 [- A+ z4 P: h1 ~) |
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
& s) H+ p; P$ y% X7 \• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience % W( I" Z* ~3 I8 L
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment

• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
