Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary:
8 z$ j& n1 o2 T- I* X6 gWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. * N) j( ^- p% A! ^: W
+ W, v6 e# @% B: F" n6 B6 b/ J
Key Responsibilities:; V1 H5 Z6 J) ~3 f3 M2 C
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person( n# f* ^* r; z# t
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
# c0 ?. `/ N; x0 O3 c @• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
2 Y' b2 [. `6 l$ g6 |4 w• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter. {. G: e& C+ t6 ~ z' s
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents) d5 |9 U0 x o: a
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker

- H) b% o- o" L• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events5 u4 i8 }2 e; y) T
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
& i3 e- [1 ]9 X# P• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
# _6 `" Y2 r u c. R9 j, L5 d" c• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person W! h. W, D' e; X
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset# ~( O5 D$ P, X. C# v0 N: ]
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
9 l3 C- a; m- d, {: v( E8 \- u, H• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
, ~# E& w% ]1 ?! q• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook6 u0 {/ c) _9 @6 {3 o% t
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately T. x" j' [ `: \
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services; |# j) ?& J3 \) l9 ], t' P

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience % y+ q+ h9 |9 k: I( ] A ]% [
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
$ C4 d9 S+ G% ?! F$ E) I• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism/ p7 Z: F5 p0 N( I
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
