+ f' H" P5 A: n8 _In general, key aspects of the role are:
-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
1 a* q& v6 i& N% }* u, V$ C' w+ Htechnology;
1 k. g& B5 N8 i, X-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
7 _: N8 M3 P. S  V) R# \8 m-        Participate in peer reviews;
, s% Y( n" b) b. ?-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
( x' O# j) k* l6 w-        Programming planned enhancements;
0 a7 S; D, y* }0 Q% O9 b-        Testing system changes;
# J$ o6 Y+ k: o-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
department’s change management processes;
7 Q3 @, @! y! [-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
3 f- O% a2 a$ I3 T-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
5 D; ]  Q, [1 w/ V2 C% H2 k-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
7 n- U2 t& u8 u0 @% M; l5 t" d( E-        Excellent written communication skills;
  J3 a$ s9 m& o* ^9 v- E-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

6 w. u) ~, [3 K4 P; u4 h9 N# z(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

! h# D: o  Q( Q( O4 z/ M' ]& X(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.
+ d3 d2 o( ~5 z% @8 S8 R4 B& b
(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

: k6 O  a" t# T' S8 n- h(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

! |/ W; J! a$ w5 }5 C( ], d5 }* N7 _0 p7 K+ H(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.
) e4 J; O8 f) `+ h5 y& c) h% r
! z, |. g- H1 C( g(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
+ G% o" ?# W) l6 E- Infragistics controls
- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET
- Nunit
, f+ Y/ ?1 A+ Q! {4 N% ^7 T- Crystal Reports
: ~$ W! M" g2 [9 M/ m: j- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
6 Z- M' n# E9 E; ]2 R, n- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
