4 S/ ?0 ^' x+ d3 s% X• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed7 n5 Y/ d2 d/ t0 D2 Q; B
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
4 U( }% j" x* G: V8 _7 n4 _; U• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers+ q! V* @6 `: G! [) S" w
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams y" c5 ^/ W1 H1 O
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place% u7 s& y8 }' d+ f1 `; x7 Z5 U A
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment2 }3 V0 N3 y; j
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools0 K; W2 h0 ~# f, q
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting0 |, X$ C* `2 m, n! {. I& I4 U
• Mix paint, blend and match colors

• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs1 E$ @9 @: ]. g" G' r
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation, I+ u: q* s! j# z$ e% H6 F
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling" S& q& q# W0 A7 c
Education and Experience Requirements:0 U: i# I/ R* o
• Completion of secondary school is required. a' N. O2 q l
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 7 A7 ?; [1 [: g+ x0 e7 T( A
or
' U6 |! j# [9 FA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
" S4 n; i" d5 [) o• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory " A- c# Y2 `9 W( R
