• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
% F4 A4 f0 u. W8 h3 I' E• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
* G2 ^3 L; }$ A: Y! C5 `• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
# X' ]+ z. l6 A7 P8 c• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
, ^# v3 A3 ]9 i% Y& }$ e) J' Y8 I• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
3 X9 [+ ^3 |% q) w• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment0 o; `, k% M8 A2 {( }% }
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools! ]( i6 Z: `$ f0 d5 d% L
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
# W/ W3 l; S" j5 q, ~! g' x9 |5 F• Mix paint, blend and match colors
* N2 R% |8 [8 I! ~+ A' }; e- ~. u' }• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns. B' ^2 X2 `& e# q
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
7 Q" U4 i6 N& H3 R# q8 r4 z• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements:
0 }/ v! I5 S7 } V" e5 k• Completion of secondary school is required7 Q3 d3 z$ Y: e% P& p8 t. F' a8 V
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program ( u4 p- }" q8 Z) W e# @1 g

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
1 g. u: U! G3 T+ A* |, x• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
