Job Description:
% k+ H0 @, |6 ^* r• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
3 u, L) |% J' H+ X. z2 q• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
7 C( j# i( E/ u• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers5 }" D! F1 f J& s9 u9 P8 n
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams5 I: g" L& x; o+ G7 P
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
# k; f1 \7 C1 |" v- i• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment4 V- d' K1 d2 O2 j
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
6 Z8 j+ n; ~2 K) c: |( Z• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting5 N3 }/ M& Y. C2 M. m; N
• Mix paint, blend and match colors. G% N- s8 _& U# g* d- m
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
( [% R F- z) k4 C5 g' w) J7 W• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs' \% V) ]/ Z' ^, e* b. ~' K
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
8 E# \+ F0 X6 ^4 ?3 d' p! q, H/ a8 @9 R• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program : \& v6 ^: R8 S4 z7 P) n) E
or3 g) T% }! C& d( Y7 u4 w
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade ; ^5 E1 M5 N" j) _& H/ W" e
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory - E4 R% j3 c' ]% G" v
