J9 g- Q: O% oPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. - L6 q' S# z2 j- }1 n8 ~& q# c7 G/ n

Key Responsibilities:
5 J# C q2 J- A/ w2 d• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
r( c& e5 ^, L7 T• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST: i" F& M1 Z1 f' i* {1 r0 F
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately. f# }9 K/ d9 y' \
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter; c) r" ?( J8 S% T7 Q" ?
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings7 `# J- @ I( {( I( M, B0 s
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents3 l% B: Z# E1 \1 w9 A0 j+ a
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker6 d; `! K q. Q- [3 s, Z8 M7 I
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events0 X& I( C8 I! K6 ^/ }+ d; k9 W
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
" [/ o% A3 k% _: g: _• Keep the reception area tidy and clean+ X4 D8 \4 a/ P, E% D: Z1 a* q3 V5 v
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters1 z% A4 D9 M! `' k
• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
7 e# ]1 f5 T: h0 M• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
+ C, q8 N# p! V1 w5 q• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset9 K/ U/ m" W7 {+ X) Z0 V l% W8 X
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
0 @9 S* r! B( x# r* h/ F% F2 y ?8 h. u9 g• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
7 a4 A" |* N' w: a• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience ( k0 b, l% h" ?9 }8 J/ L- [
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment, T" g- A W$ h
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism2 F2 M. z7 z2 p# P8 a
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
