Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
" e+ F+ Q |# m' ^% t# V) c: S• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
6 s& _# _% y, x+ x• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
- W, H L+ ?0 R3 q: X0 S$ h• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter3 N4 B$ N# H" e3 t) t
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
. h: L8 m8 s9 m P& r• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
$ n+ o& t' W1 f; z. R a1 P/ n• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker" m" N: ?4 ~- z, D3 B9 N; d
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events! p7 {. S' W- z; `: v9 a$ `( w
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
; _5 h { Q! i• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
( W0 M0 b* o, h B" q' W! O$ f• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters1 j+ G6 G% D9 X
• Maintain front counter service files

% _. K' m" Z, X- h! ?• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person* E. ? U) K$ ?7 M
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
' o. Q8 y. W3 Q/ P• Good English writing and oral communication skills
/ G% y6 j) E( D \- A• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients1 I- W% }9 s, D0 f/ @/ [) c
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook; m9 b! Z2 N, {% p3 k8 ^* H
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately # G$ P$ X" B% n, S5 V
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
' M/ o6 x& a5 {' q5 e% Z• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

( @. E- r: h' b' g, ^5 ^6 ~• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
$ _! G* h7 K0 f- l; F: r! q• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment( J2 n9 W3 g5 q0 k
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism3 g- V' X' Z4 V2 w/ s% k, F
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
