Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker$ S) H+ e2 P' z+ {
Hours of Work: Part-time (10 hours per week)

: ^" m" F' a$ Y# E+ xPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

* x6 [. K) U- B- ?4 X• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
6 E6 p$ T! e7 i% S) j• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
5 u9 Z4 {5 l9 s• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately5 l) W0 w* {' m3 S; H4 M
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter v: m8 x0 u3 O0 d- K% }
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
4 \+ I" v) z& y- l3 }' j3 o c2 Q• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents* `: r, A" N9 V) i# W, B; r5 W0 d
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker' k% l+ F& T5 B& q1 p$ r( J
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events M/ z: j* E* B: Y! d! o+ b
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
V* x, A* n* R! n8 u; Y. n& k• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
# g! F4 R" c K: Q% h" _! F• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:7 G7 f7 k$ y2 A$ E2 v
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person: w0 Y3 {1 [: O, {2 U
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
6 D) C+ \' ]/ p4 J; \• Good English writing and oral communication skills
( f* t' X" M* S- Y3 a& }6 O• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
& S, e+ o: l. U4 U• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
, U2 q6 t: D! ]' J( ?• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
' @, P$ d7 J7 O! j• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds, { t% }8 @! J: t2 H6 k5 t
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment3 W q8 u: Y' c- _ Y; G
• Knowledge of immigrant services

% ^3 Y# {8 D1 `1 f( M• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
5 V: ~ N. F( [) h e- I: O• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
7 c2 P! F' b5 W4 i m% I/ _• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
& n: u. x" }0 ^4 K Z/ Z$ b• Ability to work well under minimal supervision [0 r0 X: j" h& p8 i. W* ?
