Volunteer Job Description

Position:        Youth Leader
. A: i8 ^1 \* F6 ^8 w  ^( {Duration of Commitment:Summer T.A.N.G. Youth Program
' K! L; [' r5 Y$ n% v/ H1 J, YCamp 1 – July 04 – July 14
( i/ a2 f( p2 \+ yCamp 2 – July 31 – August 11 (must attend an overnight camp on August 10 to 11)
Time:0915 to 1600(Regular Program Time)
3 a  N; U3 G$ E1 q( o  i*might work in other time in some specific days
Place: ASSIST Community Services Centre

Duties:
To assist the T.A.N.G. Youth Program Coordinator by providing clerical and/or activities support in the followings:

1 Y. C- k! y0 v/ T" O Distribution of promotion flyers to schools, churches, communities and relevant social agencies and professionals
 Take attendance if available
3 X+ O) k- A6 l Provide positive modelling to youth
 Facilitate or assist in ice-breaking games and/or other activities
. a0 _/ n- d; H Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
3 V3 I+ I* Q) M. T" V! ~6 E Research activities related to the session’s topic upon advice of the Program Coordinator
+ Z5 Y! k" ~+ X) J/ [8 z% F8 L Watch out on the safety of youth either in centre or fieldtrips
! H8 j1 b: C+ o& M1 @. Y Report to the Program Coordinator for any doubts or concerns and/or any troubleshoot behaviour
( e$ t8 a3 o& V- d/ [ Act according to the guidance or direction of the Program Coordinator
 Must follow guidelines or procedures stipulated in the manual/training
0 w" O: Y* H; E& ]& z Attend debriefing sessions/ongoing training
 Assist in program planning/design
: C: D7 Q+ A0 i2 Z Any other program related tasks as assigned by the Program Coordinator

: Y# I2 X, j4 N0 `* d Mature, sensible, patient, organized, willing to take and follow instruction
4 g4 p4 L' m: J. E Be open and willing to initiate and maintain a positive relationship with youths in the program, or youth who is matched on an one-on-one basis
 A team player, can get along well with other staff & volunteers
 Concentrate efforts in the group session or activities over other distractions
6 ~: V! u* S9 Y4 m$ j, ], a8 j Able to work independently with minimum supervision
 Value building on strengths in children, youth and families
& p! C, I; y: t+ v9 S Able to get along with youth and/or youth who might at risk
  R7 r6 B5 J: e, Y* r/ ] Certain proficiency in English and Chinese
