1. It's cool.
' G6 y) ?: L* X& v( K1 {) t2 L7 `0 Z' I) G& ?' F: `( ~! n$ l
(可指人或事物)也就是 something good or acceptable;situation is under control;being calm, gentle, courteous or good-looking;meet teen's standard.
4 G- P2 s" u, X' v9 \7 s    That's cool;he is cool;this is cool. . K6 Q- y& q9 u  \: H
    Skydiving (或surfing) is cool.(跳伞或冲浪运动很不错)
3 }( x9 G. ]) R; K/ z
6 [# b/ c6 Y+ X7 b, E! k主词可用任何人称的单复数 (I, we, they 等),动词可用 verb to be 的任何时态 (is, was, were, will be, have been等)。
3 h6 K- Z: [( |: e) n/ D    She (He) was cool in the past.
5 `% ^/ e1 ]* |8 [  f5 X    That's a cool T-shirt.(好看的运动衫) $ p, Z$ Y" t1 c- \1 I
    He (she) is a cool person.(文雅礼貌的人) ( O: g/ N2 n5 ?  r1 K
4 J4 M# ?, X" W$ O
但是如果说:Are you cool?
; E  n4 W& i4 E    She looks as cool as a cucumber. 又是恭维语,是说她很 calm and charming; not * C  [7 I! E1 V& N8 D' Z7 U
    emotional. 但为何用黄瓜 (cucumber) 代表,则不得而知。 6 J9 `% ?2 X% c% Y4 z. U
    (注:许多华人把 cool 译成「很酷」)
* N5 M; P! a& t0 ]0 c+ I: V . o5 A  N; a; w' F
2. Are you trippin'?
5 V" C' P) i1 [# J+ l& @& `' W, ^0 ^/ @8 Q
这个字是现在分词当形容词用,是指行为异乎寻常,也许受到吸毒或喝酒的影响,而显得神魂颠倒、奇形怪状(to get high on drug such as LSD),也就是说:要不是受到药、酒的影响,你为什 显得这样古怪呢?(Are you under any influence of drug or alcoholic? Why are you so crazy and bizarre?)
( M  W7 F  Y0 K/ ~. c    They are trippin'. (= tripping)
6 V; f9 G: l! x4 q/ X% z9 x    She (he) is trippin'.
0 n) i9 s; H( B0 ZMr. A must be trippin'. - N0 d4 M* _8 H  {
( b: `" ]  P' `# y! D8 g& T6 I; D

3 j1 o' b4 H( d' ~* G- ]% b$ _0 u3. He is a nerd
' q3 E1 K/ I: {/ X
: c! u* G1 {. (A person always buries his nose in books, but not good at social situations.)
: U+ r) [! M. X& {    He used to be a nerd in high school 5 O9 w  @' w9 j7 B: J  p! ]

7 K  b  E0 A2 E% t  H9 |5 J4. Yo baby
2 q0 D" k* V* H2 w0 @  j  |4 ]9 ~7 q3 r4 g
(He thinks she is pretty and attractive, so he wants to speak to her.),也就是找话题,想要「打开话匣」。(to use as a form of opening line or pick-up line or to begin a greeting; try to know her or date her) 如果说: ( i. o& Q2 d: h( I" k
    Yo baby, are you trippin'?
; ?5 D6 ^  I8 zMay I help you with something? I think I have met you somewhere before.
7 V) ~! 诸如: : X6 B( o; p- Q0 E( a" h
Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?“what is going on?”就是年轻黑人打招呼的用语 (a form of greeting or open statement) 或 Hey, hey, hey, are you going to the movie?(帅哥,你是去看电影吗?)
; p# P: p  G6 S7 \4 I0 T2 K% Q3 K" q' o- E# m& m
5. She is a ho
5 p$ I/ ~& P( {8 q5 r  x% T& N/ T
(a girl or woman gives sex freely without charge),也就是说:She is very loose. 或 She is a loose woman (girl)。
' L& q# `6 f* @& W3 q" o    They are (were) hos.
; ^8 I. i# L7 ?4 F/ e    There are quite a few hos in high schools. (a girl or woman is paid for sex.) * m+ j6 p0 F$ ^% o5 O3 p2 ~
4 n# Y1 G3 J4 U9 o  ]) i
6. Catch you later!6 [* |6 ?# \4 h3 v: j4 x
. y$ \5 x4 m$ Y9 _, a
(a form to say“good乡bye”) 也就是说:现在没有时间与你交谈,以後再谈吧!(I don't have time to talk with you now, but we can talk later.) catch 後面,也可用其他人称代名词(him, her, them 等)
: Z: }- E. v3 x. G. c! V: ~有时年轻小伙子也用:I am off. I am leaving now; I'll talk to you again. 5 e" J0 A* F' L* w
