1. It's cool.) c3 ]$ i) g- L6 K) k2 @+ s$ z

(可指人或事物)也就是 something good or acceptable;situation is under control;being calm, gentle, courteous or good-looking;meet teen's standard.
* `7 v3 l3 L8 f% W3 A: b, ]    That's cool;he is cool;this is cool. - `' c8 ~1 J7 G2 h/ {8 i# @
    Skydiving (或surfing) is cool.(跳伞或冲浪运动很不错)
0 S0 A; a) J5 p3 R. _$ W% @; Q; t6 M" k( _2 j# e9 k# T
主词可用任何人称的单复数 (I, we, they 等),动词可用 verb to be 的任何时态 (is, was, were, will be, have been等)。因此,也可以说: ( i& i+ u8 U& s4 F
    She (He) was cool in the past. : T6 H) }+ N" T  `" [! }1 C7 \
    That's a cool T-shirt.(好看的运动衫)
8 H, ~# Q2 O: d+ K! ]' K! v    He (she) is a cool person.(文雅礼貌的人) " s; \# N* l1 I$ @0 Z$ r( B4 G' F

% p* h% O% J" ~但是如果说:Are you cool?又是指「你冷吗?」(cool = cold),可见 cool 当口头禅或俚语时,多半不用在问句。假如说:
* @- [& ~2 z5 F- l9 p* B    She looks as cool as a cucumber. 又是恭维语,是说她很 calm and charming; not 0 O2 b8 p# R, r1 x+ [/ s; g
    emotional. 但为何用黄瓜 (cucumber) 代表,则不得而知。
* f8 q- i3 I  }. c    (注:许多华人把 cool 译成「很酷」) 7 z& h& c( V1 i/ G2 ?

2 i: T) A% d  c$ ]4 v* j2. Are you trippin'?
0 |' T% P2 O7 o% w+ V) G9 `
这个字是现在分词当形容词用,是指行为异乎寻常,也许受到吸毒或喝酒的影响,而显得神魂颠倒、奇形怪状(to get high on drug such as LSD),也就是说:要不是受到药、酒的影响,你为什 显得这样古怪呢?(Are you under any influence of drug or alcoholic? Why are you so crazy and bizarre?)
    They are trippin'. (= tripping)
1 \% g8 m7 r1 I) J, r  U1 E$ q) o$ j    She (he) is trippin'. 3 W! p( ?- a% |( f
Mr. A must be trippin'.
$ U0 I0 f8 T! T 3 \; ^6 u: P( I1 F% q( I- Q& c1 O' |
3. He is a nerd: m' ^! ~% V- U# A  V

0 b6 o) ]4 X4 `; i$ N0 r) p; jnerd (A person always buries his nose in books, but not good at social situations.)
) u# U/ H; E, A& I: j; {    He used to be a nerd in high school 1 ~( u+ @6 M) b* O4 q/ F( Q
% m6 i6 n- `  Y. {3 P: w& O! y
4. Yo baby
" f1 {' x4 X! `- ^  n7 `0 `0 D. l- g( o9 j0 }
(He thinks she is pretty and attractive, so he wants to speak to her.),也就是找话题,想要「打开话匣」。(to use as a form of opening line or pick-up line or to begin a greeting; try to know her or date her) 如果说:
7 r3 v  x6 d, e, z1 h) ~$ Y3 g    Yo baby, are you trippin'?
May I help you with something? I think I have met you somewhere before. ! W1 Z3 G) Q! [4 O( P' }
  q7 M5 j. A* W. z5 R0 Q: a# x9 n+ V    Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?“what is going on?”就是年轻黑人打招呼的用语 (a form of greeting or open statement) 或 Hey, hey, hey, are you going to the movie?(帅哥,你是去看电影吗?)
# n: b+ V2 m* K8 y4 ?( S2 E# q' B$ o1 ?) G) D  L
5. She is a ho
: P0 ]) v9 A2 w* h6 ]# ?7 h+ I- O- Q) u. u
(a girl or woman gives sex freely without charge),也就是说:She is very loose. 或 She is a loose woman (girl)。
    They are (were) hos.
  ^3 ^9 ]  i- @6 X( c; l9 O    There are quite a few hos in high schools. (a girl or woman is paid for sex.) $ H1 i: p9 o2 w. |# }  D9 v

; k) K: Q9 e( r- x6. Catch you later!7 \0 \$ q, _1 d
- b1 n# P" U$ |, F* ?
(a form to say“good乡bye”) 也就是说:现在没有时间与你交谈,以後再谈吧!(I don't have time to talk with you now, but we can talk later.) catch 後面,也可用其他人称代名词(him, her, them 等)
; w+ E( e6 x# c' q$ P# V) L有时年轻小伙子也用:I am off. I am leaving now; I'll talk to you again.
; i- W3 e) \/ X. ~4 h0 B(我要走了,再谈吧!)
