SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
3 b1 B( L, f! B! U, VSEDI is staffed to:
+ c9 v8 ]: ^( R9 H7 Z2 c• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
! `0 J5 M* B' X4 n5 m• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
' M3 v' U; M# {! ~• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 4 f# B% {- [5 n. t) k
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
! C* v: r$ f6 G; h q6 Y2 Z• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
, i U" K! p* n' p/ c& V• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses
/ j I3 J3 v9 c8 ]2 d' J) }• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada & W3 i; h; o- t
Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
; J4 b) q; ], Y# t/ ~$ D3 a2 @+ }9 z• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ( M9 b0 k& s9 Q0 p
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
3 R/ b d; T& {( T7 S5 ~• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required % N! j' X5 ^6 \$ }3 c" E8 k
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
5 N+ F0 |) O7 e7 O/ T/ L2 ?8 j# k• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 3 N5 @* G" l+ G2 W. e8 L# {
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

9 f. | ]6 e$ G0 v e• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 4 E; j$ m C( U) [* V9 G/ S
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
, a" B2 n# ?( J• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting k. s( W P2 `
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports - q5 N# y% [( V
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

0 r( Q2 r1 l+ ^6 D T: O• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
2 p5 l; f c7 H8 u+ T$ q* E9 t• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media & S0 Y% x5 N% Q. `1 _1 P
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
0 `6 w- ~1 ]2 m3 L& P# \1 ?$ K• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities ' I" d: Z/ o0 `( r7 F
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
$ o: w _7 a0 z1 H' p6 z% B• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
$ g8 W: k' J2 F3 V0 S• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
7 l6 q3 K, m2 u) Q+ ] ^& Y3 \• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
- E4 x" R9 D( |% w& Z• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
7 G% r8 ~+ D5 O, |7 Z9 l• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

This is a full time contract position for 1 year based out of our Toronto office with the possibility of extension.
