In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.1 t. N" @0 A: d$ P# ~2 p

SEDI is staffed to: ) L- h5 c2 u9 h7 L3 \8 y
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
/ \% r% [3 k0 n# z• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
5 c; R! P- S) I7 i) x0 S1 U• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
( U9 y t2 Q3 o0 w• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
5 b6 C$ d% P0 t r+ ?• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits " E* {1 P& p) s+ ], [2 x: `5 m8 u$ S
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 3 L2 r0 t: a& W* R1 g

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
2 `. O: j$ ~% o• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
# U* u1 B8 D+ C+ I: N• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) . q$ m0 U3 u! j3 r. s! R i8 d
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ' `. O8 ]. W$ z$ K' ]
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities $ M% q8 J' p5 c9 W% J( v0 F9 Q
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team - l' n. X3 n' N, w, D: G
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 1 |; O( V. i' K: g
Other Activities:: v, s+ f; m: r1 n% ]) y, e
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
% K4 H1 L3 n8 y• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
2 @. v$ W" v8 Q2 Z& Z• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting

• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning 7 F% Q3 M4 O& }
Primary Qualifications: 7 }' j G1 w( g. C" q; F
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
& }2 n9 H/ V4 t9 b- b• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media & g x# x2 D2 x% |/ L, A8 x
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
; Y" }) B% O U; V8 ^+ K; v/ \- u• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
; z# C! K4 p# H- F( `/ l7 s- u) V" t• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 3 E ~- ~( r! Q9 D, ~, j
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them # r3 k7 \ w& h ]& ?: j) y
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
: e& D1 ^) `3 N) I m; ?4 {' G6 o& P• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education 9 \: j5 F* v* C q6 R7 S
• Content / curriculum development experience
- @" _& M% E1 p- P, H* ?% M* Z" s• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners ; ?1 D6 A8 M) I1 F- b
• Excellent organizational skills
- F; `" Y4 g9 G• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
; i& e5 Z. t, D7 T/ h• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset , m! w$ H7 x. p' A
• Policy research skill set is an asset " [* ^ I3 ^- G* T
• Marketing and communication experience an asset
