In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

2 m/ u0 v; w: Z9 i/ c4 KSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. , [0 A9 g( e6 o' D( I6 H, H
SEDI is staffed to:
& w9 Q; |' S* ~: j# f8 }6 L• conduct socio-economic market and policy research 9 I& x9 U4 z# q4 }- F
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners # e9 F3 }3 V' b5 ]8 \
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation % S5 ~5 ^5 r4 I+ G
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 4 Y! w) h4 U6 G2 Q
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
6 \( W5 a- k. q• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
# Q" {1 P( I* c, F, A: J8 R2 z• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) + j4 Z0 J. B: U8 M. [, O
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
7 F: k# p6 y; l' q+ L, q$ I• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 1 S% Z8 j f! M4 d6 y
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team

Other Activities:
" }% H/ n0 C3 a, _# N8 g) W• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
% E' Z) e' a/ {) S9 y& Y* w7 f; Y: b• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
+ X8 `. |! _) N( l" W• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting % {( K, a- p; W4 ~
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
: P( b6 e% l; f+ s0 W• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning & U2 }" @! Q! z1 C7 j7 q, e h/ B) X T
Primary Qualifications:
" M- y2 O; t! g+ p- p3 w5 s• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
U+ V7 Q8 l+ m9 t; R; Q* U, z• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
9 ^1 ^0 o5 W e+ A1 ~) ^+ j- A7 ?• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
- e' f( D, z5 u0 G5 U• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 7 e( Y# d' v0 u. K7 H0 l$ M
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams / S' R7 D: `, V4 f& H* C" L
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
# c p6 c M4 C: C. ]2 a0 I• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
# I' N6 U. q8 G, q+ r' M• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
' h0 h/ n2 V4 P+ P2 d• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Content / curriculum development experience

$ R, i, N) L/ N! B0 `* I• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
