Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
2 L/ j: Q( e2 u" M% u- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
  j, S$ O8 e6 t' d$ c6 q- provide support to ISP staff
3 q5 @; o. t/ J8 y/ p. n4 y/ _- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
8 E) S. Y  x9 Z$ l8 l- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
& A0 `! J2 i  l- c8 v0 o7 a2 e- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
* N# X2 V- H1 d* b- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
% @+ u/ t: S) l& I2 N/ v- I- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
. Q' u$ L8 Z6 P3 t% j0 I8 z: f- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
  W6 f# W. t. H+ d: Q- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

" ]" ?- a0 t. H% T9 M" w0 [- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
; O9 p# J4 q6 m# h* [$ N- i8 _- i- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
$ p: J' p) I  K% r* D- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
4 x7 @; w" H1 K; r- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- v: P/ G6 w4 t5 Q! M- good interpersonal and people skills
- good organizational and coordination skills
