Position: Outreach Worker

1 Y6 _7 T# f) \; I/ l- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
( P: ^) j- I0 I2 U. o-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
7 A1 Y6 i+ m) T: Y( k- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
8 s/ R( @8 T& Q! g5 Z8 P/ g, L- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
0 }" U# y- h5 w8 q- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

! Q; ]8 \: [9 e! P1 HQualifications
* L) Z2 R! h( {6 H- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
( ^  C8 Z! J+ d. b" V' h  R- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
* J5 D2 h7 G1 o) e6 P3 o- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
7 x; _" b/ L2 G( X2 a. H- good interpersonal and people skills
$ \1 R! |: ^' T& a- good organizational and coordination skills

- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense
