Job Description
/ j% ]) _# u+ m( p6 n- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information1 E6 v3 ]( y# p$ g) @" B7 u/ F+ ?6 T
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.- {( x) D% }, q6 W$ }4 D
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
) A: k1 y0 Q$ G" W' \- provide support to ISP staff P5 E, d: p" l
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members1 c, B. W# r$ N6 v
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
! U, I9 ^! J5 }- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
h: i6 q$ c# A3 E/ q- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants, U0 f$ D' ~1 e2 {9 C( U
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
# r$ A6 |: L2 k4 a) ?; c- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder' a# x4 ^, ?' B0 d, e: W* Y/ H
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
# L9 g2 U c: M2 \% @; j3 H- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities

/ R0 y+ |+ M o' \" v- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered2 T$ p; G3 W6 P7 u. v
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
' k0 C2 Z6 t0 T% {9 j! y1 v- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers8 ~6 ]! v. ~2 k: t8 z& s+ {9 C8 B( g
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software& H |) I! |' k- U2 [# Y V7 l
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)/ y* J& ~: E, Z) A' h
- good interpersonal and people skills
