Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description' X# W* o6 r A
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information; Q; h; y7 z2 k7 v6 K
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.% A+ ~, S! l7 K: I, H9 ~
- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
3 h$ L" u* f6 i- provide support to ISP staff
3 l% F) V) F$ ?! _8 v' U8 D5 `/ U" q- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members9 e$ C+ A% }% G4 a. G% u+ q
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities" N) H, p3 J9 G% o6 {/ l
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated! o3 v+ u3 {8 B" S7 w( u. h& V0 ?
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
$ d( n5 J8 a4 w- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals8 L7 y$ q* r5 ]! n5 b5 B% g
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
! x# T6 w& v, @& I- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
* Y" c o7 t$ K$ O& z% y- @" [- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
' h; }$ `2 X0 w4 N; H; O- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned* ~' _( Q$ H( }1 u2 K
- other duties as assigned

% A4 O8 t3 w% J" J* F# p Z- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
: z2 B6 j$ H, U2 _! i6 z- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available, S) X# O ?8 S7 Z
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers0 I9 x& j" I% q7 l
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
7 c5 M9 Q* B2 c$ f- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
( b5 B8 t6 i7 X6 o8 Z: M/ M- good interpersonal and people skills
- @: G, D( {0 R& Q) Z4 y% n6 f: f- good organizational and coordination skills
