Purpose of Position; j2 l0 |3 Q* H- o# N: G* A
The Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.
3 ~' `1 P8 D8 KThis role reports directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities) x, K$ ]" U/ s
The key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:0 J2 Q$ O! {- l9 ]( ~; T4 P* @
1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation
0 {  M1 v& \# c7 P1 r9 v7 M7 e• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers
6 j8 ?4 C' Z+ F6 ~3 }/ z• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests/ h; Q$ d5 Y* X7 P4 }5 b
• Ensure job descriptions are kept current2 H* k" `% I& F5 L. q$ N' o7 g
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs) ~) n  b7 y$ t, z% b3 \
• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees. o$ X) x  F- t( z' L

/ E+ p+ e, X7 n( l! E2 S# Q" H2. Policy and Procedure
: m) {/ {4 ?' `, [3 M( E• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval
! C4 p- q4 z* x0 ` Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions
0 T! ]6 ]& l0 H$ {• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance# P. F% r  M: z1 R1 B5 N

  s# ^& S% i7 |! y" E3. Performance Management Support, p# i: ~* q9 y+ {
• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program
% e/ l; I6 e9 [2 Z( n• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching$ a6 l' d1 ]( w8 L2 o
• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)
9 J& c* i% ]: B• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations
% i' z4 q9 t/ [! I- n9 T) {• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee  S! M. w6 ^+ f! o

; P* I  H6 M7 p2 S3 H4. Human Resource Information Gathering
" `. U) ~5 D% Y0 p0 v# W• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals
4 z- Z4 F' C# u' z: N• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices1 z# \* v3 Y9 ~7 p" ]

5. Management Support and Planning
6 @3 l" U4 z0 k- s• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues8 @! g* P6 Y1 A1 q/ @
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation% i. M/ F6 q/ d, b" e5 l: i. u: I! ?
* M9 e2 y/ j% V4 e
6. Job Evaluation, Compensation and Classification
: y4 H1 s2 k  T! j- T• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs
" z6 [) u* D% X6 O& \( s6 I; l" c• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required: I! J( U2 w1 i! @6 x

7 A2 Q+ g5 G# Y7. Payroll and Benefits& ?( }# O+ |3 V1 S
• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider
' `2 x# i2 c" c• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers
+ o" ~  H$ v9 e, k5 U• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs. v5 @9 R6 K- x$ v" h

' |9 ^# f7 B+ k3 }' a% X% wHealth and Safety
5 E6 X) Y* i4 p' s, ^• Be a member of the Safety Committee
6 U: T( K5 l/ N0 Z9 V- L& l, \# ], ~* L+ K- K5 I( M
Qualifications & Expertise
" @9 B+ K" C6 q% y8 D Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)5 ?' w# a( ?- M/ ]$ l
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
! \! x7 a! `9 P* z2 Q4 S% O A CHRP designation is an asset; U4 F+ O/ g8 [# I2 ?  q- ~8 D: R
 Experience in the health care industry is an asset
3 B+ h$ _$ p) k/ y0 }) H Experience managing change is preferred
' X! j$ x" V) M  ^ Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook$ d: f. `4 @: T  d5 R2 w
0 f. h0 S% M0 l

Hours of Work & (if any) Special Considerations7 n' M% [" k7 n& c6 x; |7 J2 j& P2 t
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday exclusive of lunch/breaks during standard operating hours. Early morning or late evening meetings may occasionally be required, particularly if meeting with physicians.
