Key Responsibilities
2 e' [ L9 Y% u+ ?2 C; JThe key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:
( _" I' _& ^8 g9 k, E1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation
" V* [- a" I+ [9 o• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers1 @% Q8 C7 G; m8 R+ c: z
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests4 j1 r7 ~% M( m$ j. x- y. l
• Ensure job descriptions are kept current) x" {& W8 q. P7 w7 ? o
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs0 A/ C6 p& i( D% N' z( n) N+ |$ ^2 g0 s
• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees

2. Policy and Procedure& v( n4 u3 @4 g1 f2 n
• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval
$ m5 L% H8 l; D9 L5 D) u Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions
3 {2 m; f$ [ o• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance

• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program

• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)! ^ B; L: L: `: n
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations/ i" V Q4 k- \2 [1 P
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee

4. Human Resource Information Gathering
5 u5 X0 g/ T; J8 }• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals2 L+ P& E) @0 E6 s
• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices E/ o. O: W. ~, z" v

• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues

• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs$ z w( F+ Z' u1 P

Qualifications & Expertise
% J# g0 b9 {) J( P" y6 | Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)
! L% I. Z: S1 K2 P Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)# a0 F( K6 P5 \' G# n! @
 A CHRP designation is an asset) R; b9 F9 e3 l; ]% Q
 Experience in the health care industry is an asset
! a0 B8 K3 E: D Experience managing change is preferred
! Q' k3 g8 z: U9 P# A. l$ o4 l Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; h' Y# C: J4 x, S# t
