+ K6 \0 t* l3 X; f$ fThe Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.) c! b" w4 d% w5 S; B2 G, u
This role reports directly to the General Manager.

) v/ ]3 \. i. b, _6 ^Key Responsibilities% D8 Q7 v% p9 Q- D2 h+ f
The key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:6 j4 P" X! U$ B# P
1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation
& `, J9 z- I3 b0 T( T• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers/ o8 _! Z: g! F* Y4 S: U( x( K" }
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests
& G6 N3 e" y( j- ]7 g" _' G• Ensure job descriptions are kept current
- d' j9 _- c* v* K• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs
0 t3 d  F% U% {$ u( ?& ?' ?• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees, ^8 ^$ K$ y% o. l. a
7 V. \" H" j0 }% F6 x; ?8 k% P
2. Policy and Procedure
, N: |& u9 w4 j& u* S( [• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval, Q& d1 ?, F: ^* I) p
 Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions& K; H( r; u7 f+ U1 d: {7 F$ y
• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance
4 T+ ]( j5 n4 D3 H7 \; u( B7 q. N8 t/ `
3. Performance Management Support/ E- d- ^+ H9 S! L$ I
• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program, j& x6 X8 O8 `+ V$ i
• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
8 x% w7 v  V% v1 b+ C• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)4 L1 J, d6 [1 l% j, ^- K! o
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations( j3 |" d1 A$ \* h' I$ [( c# w  f
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee

4. Human Resource Information Gathering
  v3 L. v* \! ]4 F' y4 S" S/ B$ V• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals: v3 J% `* |  ~! I/ Z
• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices
% S+ k9 M- s# d# {4 p( D2 J( p1 b9 B  S; A) D- R+ ]# L/ i
5. Management Support and Planning
$ z# b$ @0 o* `• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues! ~1 N( g# v) B% ~, A; _5 v) v; Y
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation
7 k/ ?# H* x& _; k" g& q3 q6 N$ ?& K/ O5 g) u2 L$ F; J
6. Job Evaluation, Compensation and Classification
- r9 v5 a* S* `0 v+ a• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs1 I7 u, E# n1 H
• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required
, q, m) O8 y0 e6 I3 O; G- a" U9 Q: ~) D, J% R
7. Payroll and Benefits% E! s4 `3 X, N( V9 m, R
• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider) W! M3 _, \1 K& J
• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers" ?/ z' g  E' p  a6 _0 J& a
• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs
$ K8 o$ g  t! N0 A7 c  B' S
2 G( F3 J  P) t' rHealth and Safety# A! x9 }3 U* Z6 o
• Be a member of the Safety Committee
  E! ~0 j0 {- C% s1 _) S# W/ N6 [+ S- g2 s7 _/ g% S) O& u0 x9 ]' }
Qualifications & Expertise4 O5 w9 p4 U- ]+ D: Y. V! g; F% b
 Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)8 L. j0 I8 P. I, W
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
: G& [  u$ k  `- G+ M A CHRP designation is an asset
: A5 K- ~! W% n5 @ Experience in the health care industry is an asset* p, S% z) \" O- y
 Experience managing change is preferred) G0 Z& C5 q1 z# R" i
 Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook$ ]& C7 k6 {( c2 I+ E. R9 m

# O8 @( u* o$ h( `4 n8 K# DHours of Work & (if any) Special Considerations
- g1 B5 [3 y1 E7 v. R37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday exclusive of lunch/breaks during standard operating hours. Early morning or late evening meetings may occasionally be required, particularly if meeting with physicians.
