Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer

 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met./ a3 x7 G. U' n+ N# S; Y- c% p
 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.' K+ `% R7 x2 b" O0 U8 E  I. m) Q
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
+ y. I1 e& S: i Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.3 Q& P# A4 T5 X' |0 w! P- g
 Update and maintain job boards.

 Update clients files on Mobius computer system

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.
* P/ @' t% a1 m7 f5 p" B2 B3 a" ?6 s Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.
( v" S# F3 b8 Z8 N" m Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

2 a/ u- M% T$ f. e( r% Q  w7 p Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
1 \4 I* n/ V7 V7 b* m: @' t& s6 i Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
  D6 X5 e/ z* V& N, l+ h( G Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.

 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.
( ^5 |# I* T/ L# V Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
+ Q) J6 ]% u# K! r9 @9 V2 q Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.2 i& N# i1 ~0 h! _/ p; M$ b
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
( D5 V6 F5 G7 u% f Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.7 D3 b8 x+ k9 O' p; `, c" ~
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.1 n; b$ r* o4 ]5 R# _
 Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system  W) Z7 m# O! B* ~0 a  @

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period/ b9 N1 c0 R: v  ?6 }7 w
 Ensure participants’ progress is tracked and recorded; ]# V3 C* `  z
 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan- I) o6 ~* x3 M( _9 I
 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment- v% j3 e2 D/ @5 v* {
 Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada; @/ ~* x7 j! |5 T; _, Z
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
) O' t! G9 J* d1 G. v( s5 h Complete participant reviews with the participants6 }2 k# H7 K) M8 j% c+ v- u
 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
. i; h, @& @3 u7 S Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
