Position Profile Heavy Duty Mechanics inspect, service, and maintain diesel locomotives in accordance with federal and company regulations.

$ H* p6 Y8 |# y, P( s* q2 N( _8 f! EProviding daily locomotive maintenance that includes changing oil or repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts

Preparing inspection, work and maintenance reports

Frequently lifting weights up to 50 pounds

Basic technical knowledge of diesel
Welding skills

$ F5 T7 W* |) ~7 H6 @+ C  HMay need current, valid drivers license, CDL, and locomotive engineer certification
) @$ Y6 Z/ K1 I# q$ @; T1 z! XVisual acuity and hearing threshold tests are required for this position. Written pre-employment tests to become a Machinist Apprentice are required for this position. Completion of 3-year apprenticeship is required to become a Journeyman Machinist. This position is subject to night, weekend and holiday work hours when needed.
