Duties
* V5 G3 c! r8 n7 H5 @, [3 NDevelops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model) g3 j0 J* K' \5 U
Generates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents
% _7 G; ]" y0 Z5 z7 e z6 g- hWorks with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results$ n7 e/ }5 ^% j# v. G0 Z. J+ _0 O7 K
Implements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available
& W" R2 M/ W8 _5 z! U0 R% |% @6 C# jProvides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface

B.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development
9 j' u2 _6 O' t8 d/ XRelated experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset
* S5 ~% ~( ^% ?: l# N) FProgramming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance
