0 r, W; v5 b) W- q$ U  z Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
# s; e8 R" R. \# r Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
& \( X( B9 S) V2 X8 ?1 K+ R' u Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
& C- g1 T4 q* Q, @ Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
5 `; @3 I9 B. V  a( a  @9 A4 R) _ Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
7 h& e% U5 l* K& R4 d Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
/ W" C, ^3 H7 `6 |' p+ m Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
  |& k( Q& G! _' \3 z* G Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
* C3 G! c. D, E5 j Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
$ \6 N9 y7 W# B: @1 w' R8 F Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.


EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
