Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers

! R5 `1 i% i. \: w; O Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
1 @8 e! G/ @) Q; j Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
/ k# _& g" I. R2 p8 E( y- A Social work degree or diploma
  g, t4 t. p9 ~* }4 @ Current RSW designation preferred   
, _5 G; d; b0 I; A3 l Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
0 k$ T0 B4 p0 ~ Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
9 k3 \$ k7 d; Z  e. E! M Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
  y% d  T4 b- S/ E! a! i7 k Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
6 D1 P0 e5 p' Y" ^" l: J0 @* ^ Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
, C1 L5 W% \5 a5 ^7 J) U: O Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
. Y8 F. f" Y0 `0 Q. |/ q5 c Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
