Key Responsibilities & Duties:

$ ?* O, c6 [# ^0 K0 Y. O2 ~' P Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.3 V# O) J; T3 ?" J5 a
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.; }6 E! e A! b8 u+ ]$ P
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

$ }% T% R4 n+ P" O6 e2 Z Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.+ G' I B" p; m/ v$ h0 _, c4 J
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

1 l, ?& d0 K9 I Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.( w3 U0 H. Z, E
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
. ]! b" @+ v. L# q Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

" z$ \* s" l- D+ h% F Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience." R6 e& c3 O- V" M6 Q5 T
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.1 d& y6 j9 _' `9 W8 w0 X
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.* }" U$ S, D) T! H0 ~
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.8 q' o) B9 z4 [% x V
 Knowledge of community resources." ?0 y6 x) g- A/ L
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
! D! f* o" ~2 l Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. ; a# g2 A4 X* v: h
; {, m* K- b: U' w; L
Position:
* _ p7 _5 m9 Q+ D% K" [This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
