Key Responsibilities & Duties:

% G' Q! s+ H& S Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
0 ^$ N1 s3 b1 W" G Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
* U+ X& ~, [6 Y7 a Completing required paperwork.
% i0 E# L& f1 w Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
! P* I& p2 f) q6 y: i9 [ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
0 j( @: x/ w! Y7 M" ]/ L* S0 X* g Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
) H2 ?2 @& Q0 e0 H# h4 H" _
0 u9 a) }, \: r( s+ L Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
+ Q2 R- _5 }% {% Y' @/ } Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
8 \# P" T2 C* S) ]& @/ @; r8 q/ A Knowledge of community resources.
& j! I2 T; x+ i/ s Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
5 B4 f) t% p; Q Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

! {+ c9 i& a& z/ X7 hPosition:
6 p' y( C( c  k- q; sThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
- K. o) f3 a* DThere is a 3-month probationary period.
