Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  Z0 r. d4 j; |/ \4 W& { Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
) E( A3 Z, H, D5 m! ~; V3 n* o+ p) E Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
1 W7 a2 Y7 q: d( P! F Completing required paperwork.
( p: ^0 p; f" S3 Q- b: J9 G Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
2 z& |7 {6 E# V) Q3 V Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
6 l+ K$ K+ d- N  ^ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
8 f, Y5 W1 `2 T- a% [ Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

' U) r' \9 _3 r, U2 XPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
