Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
4 k% Y" u( F8 w' k+ v- }1 G& a* N Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
6 t5 G7 Q+ _3 I& r4 F Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
' ^. U( E. o1 a Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
1 ^) |& |9 q! g' K- I; [ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
) q0 Y+ X9 R* m1 j/ l2 a Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
* I) g: Y3 u% l Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
3 O8 u* [  ]& I& N( L( Q; a) r  J4 w Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

& v, q/ A' F: O2 z" Q5 x+ EQualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
- `, {# X. T% x, G Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
, Y4 t4 G5 b, L) ]* G3 o Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

& E' K; M3 y' [+ b5 GPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
