Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
- `* A( L  R- ?) O Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
. o9 ^) ]; s1 z/ ~ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
- ^1 b+ g) c1 ?; w/ z1 g& ~ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

' A9 O5 l5 b4 `4 G- u, B$ cQualifications:

8 q& T4 n4 S  n Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
9 f3 W! H' W, Q' ?, | Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
" ~, L" J3 P  p0 F- ? Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
2 q! C3 q, z0 m3 z' B- o7 ?+ \) P Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
