Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

- Z6 Q& w+ I: M8 l/ K& i Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
7 o7 j4 S% P( l7 m* v Completing required paperwork.
6 E8 d; o( q4 R8 x5 q Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
$ f' C% t. [1 u6 d0 g* w* u Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
9 n& [2 f- I: }& c- @- n/ B9 { Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
) V, A' x; {7 W. _ Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ L% Q7 R; ?: R( Z$ x& i. a0 `9 P Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
- y- X/ Y6 N. n* f( K0 t/ _5 p Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
3 A: @# p0 B/ _; r Knowledge of community resources.
! W7 ~; p2 Z7 c4 W( Y% O Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
% Y1 P/ t' @+ r2 d! W5 Xstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
