The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
( a- S/ c2 y( v• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.3 I9 @+ u' G( u5 _! ?
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
. F' S9 p4 q! r4 B, O• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge% c. ]$ C5 Y# v3 A
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.; ^) Z' W7 U* q
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
1 d: q7 \( E! s* B0 `• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.3 X5 j) r8 t p; |9 G3 E1 n7 A
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.5 H1 o! @& P& P; n: V. l9 v* H2 r
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
4 R; E, W- j9 W P) X/ n3 p) I• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required, } I) i# t) ^1 ]4 O! o9 W

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
% m: s) Y: q/ V• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
5 H9 P: V w1 _# k: F• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
* y, g- L, Q4 @6 s• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation" C V& H/ X( u- }
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate& }* A1 g3 S* Y2 y8 m5 {; J8 A
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department: Z Q- h9 q" @" O0 a3 B" h" `, g
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
9 x- C. ]4 m7 u6 ?; x9 }• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency! U/ `* V% m) d( e6 j7 u
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
/ R4 v" J) P- Y7 i2 r0 o8 p6 Y• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes1 K* y' p6 _/ x- y# K" c* Y8 `
• Prepare a regular monthly program report' r$ M, L* I3 C

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances

) g) a+ x) V6 ]+ a" jINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
" }% m( Q @( o3 g• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
3 _$ V0 ~% |) _+ x& S- ^• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)8 |& r2 T4 i3 o% n
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ; o+ f3 H5 y; T2 f' ^$ g0 S
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination6 l7 ]/ y# ]* |3 A# |# e
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability$ f- a( M9 e: \8 H* p6 \
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
" ^! j% }# }) q4 H• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills % c$ Y2 I) Z" \
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure/ Y7 Z$ E9 _; ]0 G% l4 w. [
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
