The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:8 [8 ]( n/ l. b

OPERATIONS
& G9 _1 A% V( _. a- o5 ^8 Q•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.( g0 x" F, l3 Q& B
•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.+ r0 E% v: S1 X. X1 O  q
•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
9 P  r5 [8 Y( o7 t/ U•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
5 [: n# z) c& u0 N% B: l- n9 q7 K•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
/ w- n# h: K8 q: V0 w•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.) D" Q; V# T) U  T1 R; c1 @/ K% q
•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.2 R" u8 f. P, @
•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
2 Q4 {$ u, @! l+ B$ G•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required) N3 @2 `" |& I  L. b

•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
! X9 [/ N5 k3 B2 \2 r8 j•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
1 E7 o8 X9 M8 p' f•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position1 \+ m6 q4 g, T  P
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation# p. s# m/ }  P3 W5 U9 F/ p9 J9 H
•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
- B' Q3 o8 O1 d5 v. t8 A3 A•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department7 f, S1 M. k1 t# X" w* X7 V
•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
1 K! t+ j. W. E•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency* L4 @! a, [, n* v% K- u
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services+ N$ p- r+ g4 w
•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes  C4 T, Z, d) @5 }2 J9 A
•        Prepare a regular monthly program report0 ]" j% {% s& y) p0 x' v1 O

. F' I) D3 x6 W. _, P+ S. a•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
2 v3 L* a+ C7 c6 T# n" \+ Y•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS& ?2 K( U; {5 b
•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
$ C" Q6 d  n3 c! k; h# [" Z•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
$ H6 I1 w+ O( ^# |•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 0 m  y1 t" d0 I) i) j. z
•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required3 k& M, o# t  g8 i

" `. R% G! l  P" R$ YQualifications:9 R& {, M5 O: J# J, b/ k8 U

; q0 l1 o+ h" w- m1 K" \" n•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination5 b. Y6 u2 l$ `( ?
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability' L  S( D* P$ v; Q) q, e% j8 v
•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
% q5 e* h4 f+ r9 S! w) M•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
% P# Y! O/ {, a( A( `: `8 n•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure" z" k' s& y7 ~' Z
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
2 S3 d% }) M1 Q6 {* f' q* G•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality5 o; \6 m. t1 t" [7 j1 T
•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
