The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS
. D/ O: H9 Y; R# G5 S [+ ]7 h3 p2 A+ V• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
; B$ @$ q6 N Q( d F' ?• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
) [; d6 l0 T8 v- e2 B• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge' T# S8 X1 ~) G7 w" a& p- i
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
0 C2 x2 N& P0 D% [• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.) C- X8 Q& M0 C( T' S! g$ d$ r
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.; _2 A: H' L# ]! v0 Q" D
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
7 t0 [7 |. B$ ^* j• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities- y' K& Y' R) k% ~ ^( w* i+ b' \
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required C9 }% u7 P" u

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
0 }( F0 ]2 y: G) }) m• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up! J2 ]( ]5 p6 O) Y

ADMINISTRATION
: u$ @1 h+ C' A% v. C& n" C% y• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
9 ]1 |0 n* |$ j• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
2 `7 M" N" P C$ N4 }: H( l• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
0 S ?4 m; [6 S9 a' R+ x5 V1 S# b) {• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department5 p5 `* q5 u. ^
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
& Y( M6 A6 @+ N0 p$ j• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency, E/ I1 [4 ]# ]
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report

. c" N! Q% e4 D( g* d• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
3 s" \6 I' e, l. Y" ]: ]4 y1 y• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required( k0 R$ `* J1 ]8 M# ~/ s
3 N/ I( F) i8 c+ oINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS/ K' o9 T- \+ c6 S- v
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers9 Q& ?4 x( U) k3 p7 i
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
: A1 U" @* ~# K8 @; H0 c; q• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
$ x! H0 Y, ^$ z/ H1 S$ G• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required- a! v4 U& K- N2 w" G6 @

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
) I" Q" x5 o. {8 w, J% @5 z0 e• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability. e. y( v3 q/ r4 r* ~$ ~% I
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills3 P6 t4 w/ s5 d5 o X5 D* X8 [
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills % m6 ~' k. {, [, o' j* c
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure8 ]. P u% r3 s9 F
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects . w5 v5 l: a x- h
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
