The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
- ]/ A1 s3 Z% B8 H+ [5 e• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
* ?% e% z, j, N0 u• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge* T6 X! {7 b9 t/ c) {* c
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.7 V+ p" h& V6 {3 o: x
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
% G$ z# j" j+ k- H$ P2 |0 w1 |0 V8 A) N• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.( W9 c5 C n' }1 @9 M, T0 g
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development." @. b, V4 B, }3 r6 X$ Y
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
* x7 [; {. z- p1 h9 s• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
3 A" l) ~2 A6 v# p1 {8 w6 I: O• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up$ Q/ ^1 f) V' _; [' j7 K4 X4 D0 e

ADMINISTRATION
4 y5 v/ }/ _2 T Z1 y3 @; a' Y• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
" I# u# R5 [* W% ?* V7 T• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation( e! N. \) f& h# c }8 Q* l. x# l
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate6 g' N( |/ j) E: A d( v) E6 ^
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
1 F6 i0 T# y, L, Y4 V9 Z• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required

• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
) \% P: o, U, ]1 q• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes/ o! e, y$ C1 w. y T
• Prepare a regular monthly program report. N3 v1 v/ A' h$ E. l6 n7 a4 X ]

) ~8 A& P! u4 m: u9 ]( r; T* a• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required3 \) Z5 A) ^8 D1 i. M5 x# T
8 y$ b% \6 C, G/ w* d0 q/ J# v( ~INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS( f' _6 D$ E. l) C, {7 r5 `
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers2 x% v0 K; b1 G3 @" d1 Q6 t
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
\9 h; m! N1 ]# C• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ! q( o2 C& G( ^. G3 ?# c. h
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required9 ]2 u, Q, y' p. v

Qualifications:

: U |3 `* T6 D5 I0 P4 s0 N• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
V6 C" U% k. K8 {) }• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability9 T' l! g; P& S
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
/ F+ |$ s* ^! h1 }% ~• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
- q- E& S, J$ ?& f8 p# `/ Q7 _• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure/ E* g1 _ m8 I0 _7 G9 i! V
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
