The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

# W4 F8 [. m8 Z1 Y3 M) c# i( w- J• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
* M* ^* |( O, D; m7 y: F5 w• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
$ v4 G4 B* @% F; e+ k' T4 e• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
+ Q% \8 k& J6 R- B• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
9 b6 l# i+ G _' R! r' G• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.3 K; J& U3 d* K/ e
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.8 s G/ ?8 E, g8 R. o8 z6 b
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
& u3 A$ p) w0 L1 I9 d7 S% K' }/ B• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
7 V$ C% i+ W; K& Z- K: ~• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO8 l' W3 j2 u4 b2 z, g
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
9 I" a, _0 N+ k4 \# S" s+ v• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
: X+ ^0 I* U8 a) s) i/ B6 n• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
* d, V \" Y9 \• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
4 g2 e% H9 n; H' F- \- e• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 7 ^) ^( w5 y- c) L+ K& U4 R* C1 w
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency/ @5 Z; m0 j& k! R
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services: X9 m; I! }& H) }* J
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances8 M5 m4 y6 r) h5 k8 `
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

* Q! [+ Z, \$ B" f& [" Z, c5 O- q( ~INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS( G; Y9 m) z5 x" O. V( |- l
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
) ~* g; t2 g% Y2 w, [4 |• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)$ {7 c# Q. w) V0 F2 ^8 \/ h
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
$ d O& @, b: _' p" U1 x0 d7 m ^• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required( x8 z) x0 B4 s7 T+ \" _

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
' @% x7 u$ V+ `1 |7 D• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
+ y9 f& s& [4 ^& K• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
W9 K$ n, ~7 Y8 B/ M• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
) h* t6 m9 G4 ^- c# k• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
' y6 s8 ?& ]4 r( {7 v! e+ ?9 l• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects 7 k8 w4 r7 O3 y% b0 C% l7 h
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
