The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
$ s% ^8 @$ K8 y" P# R+ T• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
' W- c$ Y/ F: R• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
7 Q) d h. W/ J/ M" Q• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
' A, ?, S9 l8 ?' x- k( W- A& R• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.4 n2 E5 o0 O, |$ @
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.. \* _. i4 _7 Z" z8 s0 o2 \
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.% v y7 h9 i/ m5 g
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities5 C% p d' e3 Y# R( ^7 G
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
' T' ~6 M$ R( s4 O+ p1 {2 U• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up& x/ E+ ~* V& Q7 ]7 i

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
/ d: V* B8 I1 ?6 |! Y; P! W) @4 W• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
5 a/ ~+ r1 k9 {+ E• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
# j5 c3 p! }9 R" Q0 O& e• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department5 `6 s: A+ t5 w+ E; w
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
3 s9 a3 a0 r0 ?3 _, t8 W( l. K• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
* n! }+ g/ q+ l8 ?0 U2 S• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
3 G3 i# ~, n: D4 r5 e) _• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

. r/ p# ?3 x$ ^INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
! @% Z( ^# F A. _• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers& ~* s1 G8 F' n# C: _3 i; `
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)& q1 Z7 h; L; x& S' m
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
4 R7 o, |# \7 _3 Y* b" l• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required( j, f0 c. K1 H! a5 x

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
0 k# W, F* A4 e& b4 N0 A0 S' _• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
% s" a) `$ ]$ {& ^) R6 W" Q3 m• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
1 {/ I* y, p" {; {• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
9 T& y+ ?3 J0 r% s• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
; g/ p" {0 Y$ ~+ }1 h6 Y8 |3 r9 o$ [• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
