The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS% o! @; U) N6 D$ [% M
• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
! ^- k: A. f- f, B% L" e4 j• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.+ w$ [' p: m# h$ ]/ P1 K+ X+ h
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
5 c/ k8 S R2 }8 b/ u• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
4 H% P) F7 [8 Y% P• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.' D' E; d8 w& s; b
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.% P9 T% V! C% F! h
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
& w n* e' n" w• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
% S( [2 E3 C$ t* H9 j• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

# |$ m& [& ^( y" Y- h• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
1 ~4 H$ r8 q" G# G! L( k• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION ]4 n+ O: M* a% z
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position$ N9 u/ {- J/ A) [6 R2 q
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation- e4 X- S; y9 D2 u' T
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate$ F1 d' j3 a1 A# v# C
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department1 ~5 _1 |. z5 N- L3 P' l
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
) }" p% W( G3 v8 `• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required, n. O: Y9 X2 d u n W6 t

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
" d. p Z r8 T7 E& i• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers% c) h0 \) `, W% \- p/ a4 k b3 F
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)1 w" ~1 x( z0 }2 j7 |+ @" _% }
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
" m, R! z1 l: |" @• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

; J3 d5 K; |2 u* x. y4 g• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
1 X4 o6 B8 f! Y8 \' _3 O9 _1 O• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
) X6 K5 J! {1 d: x• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
) W# v) ]9 C' T' {, L( d* G& x• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
7 k# J* R: _ H+ T7 V8 y) b• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure* j i. `3 i7 Q. w- z
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
- w/ o+ n$ {7 M3 L2 T' e. O2 U; }• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality( n9 m5 ?; {6 C7 I4 t
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
