Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
•        Process research equipment design;
•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
! V- g( A5 U) s) B) C: n' \1 z•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
, L! i% ^2 y3 p: D•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
•        Others.

1 x$ i" v% z* B% [7 v. gQualifications:
' @) s! @* [7 `•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
•        Equipment design experience is required;
•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
•        Familiar with CAD software;
•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
% K0 H4 Q* F' @4 _$ s•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:
( b( C0 u6 _; f+ f. ~- VSuccessful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
