Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
5 V+ X# N3 n2 Y, k9 x: V8 x$ s Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
  y" T1 d% n& L" [" i' {( @ Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
% a" u; n, O5 O6 ?5 X* f Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
! L3 M6 U) V0 t8 A- O& f4 ? Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
# M4 |8 A7 Y- k/ k% E Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
. D; y( d5 M2 A9 A
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
3 d* [% m& B8 }2 N6 \5 ?0 V Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
& f% @$ w8 g" Q+ W9 i  O Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
% }* P4 q; W5 I! t! Y Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
0 ^  K$ l- ?5 }* a1 gstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
