Key Responsibilities & Duties:

( i5 `3 `& N' W2 y Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
$ Y5 a# Z; @1 y( t, n Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
, s8 S* s4 U4 I+ A Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
. k3 p3 i; U- s Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
: J- `, ^  P( f" D: y/ _ Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
; B' M( M9 ?) @! {8 ?1 {, M Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
6 B4 ]3 t5 H5 t* Q/ S) | Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
, I- d' X0 \9 E+ s) F Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

, g: U3 }7 ?' U/ d( iThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
( x+ |1 s2 ~; V* V- x- ]5 rstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
