Key Responsibilities & Duties:

" j: |, s" z2 e4 {$ E Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
6 y' C* e0 I3 q" `* Q8 m; T5 a Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
/ k4 L% Y; p' Y Completing required paperwork.
4 q5 E- G. Q# v- ^ Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
7 E1 u! _; M! g% a3 ^$ w$ j' Z Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
% G& d7 p; g* p  @4 D1 L. `8 f4 M0 N Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
* Z5 w8 g4 p' B( } Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
" R; P' ]; f7 X) c) h6 y Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

7 \' b+ T" h8 L6 u$ }: m+ V Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ d0 w5 _. c. Y( N. I2 X( T5 \ Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
; |2 r/ L6 a9 X+ R Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
6 F" O$ s! @' Y  h7 ~+ H3 Q2 I% ` Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

. t9 X6 k9 J* r4 D  d" ]5 bPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
