我朋友华东师大毕业，学的金融
想申请奖学金出国。
这种情况有可能申请到UA的奖学金吗？

maybe. The scholarship depends on his or her grade at university and the letter from professors. The more important is what they do specially at school.

GPA
publications
recommendation
research experience

奖学金名目不同，要求不同。
网上可查到 http://gradfile.fgsro.ualberta.ca/awardsfunding/index.htm

有些专门给国际学生。如果是从国内拿的最近学位，需要较强背景，最好能有认识这里教授的人写推荐信，很有用。

这里老师推荐信也不是必须，很多人没有也申请到的。

eg,一份逻辑清晰的research interest statement同样可以引起系里committee的兴趣。一般奖学金是由系里向graduate study推荐的。即使奖学金不顺利，老板感兴趣也许给funding也不定。

如果你的朋友已经下决心申请，就尽力准备一切材料，一套完整、整洁的申请材料显示出学生的学术素质，同样加分的。

请提醒她按照checklist将材料准备齐全，要求补材料的信件来往，不仅耗时耗财，同时也会给graduate committee造成不专业的印象。

如果真的下决心走这条路，就努力尽力做吧，总会有不同收获，有时意想不到，呵呵。。。

要想九月份入学要在一,二月份一切材料都准备好.一般各系新新学年奖学金在一二月讨论.
