Position: Project Coordinator, Peace Ambassadors Program / Terms: Full-time / Start Date: August 15th 2010 / Location: Edmonton / Salary: $40,462 - $56,410 per year (full benefit and pension package) / Hours: 35 hours per week, some weekends & evenings / Closing Date: July 19, 2010.

; }" E- l f" H' K8 S# a+ U( a4 u1 zEssential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.

Recruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.; g6 S- x' `$ o5 s
- s$ r5 W7 ~/ _
Training – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.

Organize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.

1 ]7 O, X( z3 l4 U$ G/ eNetworking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.+ _9 p1 ]+ x- s
; W- q. i5 k( ]( {Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position. Z1 T- ]* @. j: h" e% U# z

Proposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators. ' l4 |. Q! n% K+ p c3 s, g

Project Evaluation & Reports – submit timely monthly, quarterly, annual reports and include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model.- d F- z5 Q5 i' n: y# T3 Q
