2. supporting beams are a bit too far away from each other.

For 2, you may need someone with engineering knowledge to find out, but there should be a building code governing the span distance. For 3, you can go down the basement to do a visual check yourself.& o9 }* z; D0 b$ \5 [$ j; U5 C$ _
