FUNCTION:
  u; k0 o: E6 E2 QAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
$ m. t; Z5 E/ f) A$ k* g+ z, b• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
" l4 e0 F7 O% @+ t# i• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
% o. v) r7 \  c+ N$ }; x1 u5 {! u• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
1 E9 ^6 f8 B, R. H• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
. f& l$ P  x9 \# n) H/ D. L- q% v# ]• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
. x2 H4 t2 I! ^1 X* Z7 H; \• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
: j9 V# o" l; [1 r) q3 C• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
: |) j5 W. B7 ~7 j" J3 g/ K7 L; ^$ l• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
$ b9 j- e6 K8 g7 p9 w4 q% J• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
