As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

4 O: A' G8 S, p! i" C' RDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
$ p0 _; e4 d1 e6 `& Y• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
/ ?) ~3 }3 S5 h6 l1 [# w9 W• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
" |7 @/ A, E  ]% z1 LBi /Reporting/ETL
. W4 {1 u3 T) B- q1 E• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
( E9 Z+ K6 {; F1 R# a• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
8 G7 @! c  S* @& z• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
; a! y$ {. I7 R+ ^9 V: X! `• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

$ z+ B) n4 a0 M9 C+ USKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
& m# l7 S2 O4 J$ }0 O• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
+ A8 t2 ?' n3 f1 _" U7 n0 H• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
/ e- X4 ^7 M) N/ H3 ~• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
4 l' x. G; O" T/ G• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
3 u* v0 S$ J5 `• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
& Y# Z: }3 M' ^" a! h0 d• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
, S/ ^( u' `7 ^; k" G1 J9 S5 E• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
" L! s4 R* h* g" X0 g• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
