1 {$ E* h- u) h% P: O+ EAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

/ j* h6 C' Y# `1 W& ], B• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

/ g; E! r$ p! m8 f• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
: j& J+ E2 `  P. p• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

/ H( k& B: i$ Q+ P# YSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
' ], Y' }+ @, Q4 F  c• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
3 j( t3 o1 s$ ]• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
% Z+ n  p( Q. p; W• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
3 M2 q# }: U' N• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
