Primary purpose: The Social Worker works in partnership with settlement workers or $ d% w2 O: b$ p7 y. `
community cultural brokers from New Canadian Health Network partner organizations to

Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services. 9 }. p3 d! N* y3 c
The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff, 1 z3 _; o8 a/ t
newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social
+ c# Q- j5 W) hWorker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as 1 ^6 b4 l0 _9 \* k) v: K9 K7 o
needed. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
: s) p- i3 ~1 Lnewcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial 7 e. l' {. X3 B! u; `3 s E3 l
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-

Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family " o+ j- c7 H- M+ ^; ]

Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications
$ ]4 v- a) @) C" v Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages

insurance coverage for work
