+ O* ^0 K: ^% k7 d* u; x4 f/ LThis position is responsible for assessing client needs and short term one on one counseling to individuals addressing the social/emotional needs of older adults & their families. The position will focus on assisting seniors or their families, who make contact with SAGE, to articulate/prioritize their needs, deal with issues they are facing and to make informed referrals as necessary.

) q+ A2 ? S7 WAs a professional social worker, the incumbent will adhere to the Social Work Code of Ethics as published in the A.C.S.W., and be a member in good standing of the AARSW. This position will work with the Housing Coordinator, Seniors Social Worker, Safe House Coordinators, the Full House Coordinator and volunteers on the reception/telephone lines.& s% p/ t0 h; N; e9 e# C+ X7 ]

I+ h$ l1 mThe Ideal Candidate: is a Registered Social Worker, College or University prepared, holds a valid First Aid certificate, is able to provide a Criminal Record Check that is free of criminal convictions, has (and be prepared to use) a vehicle/possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license, and is able to obtain $1 million auto liability insurance with a rider that permits transportation of clients.7 a. y; h2 w' P6 {, q3 P3 x) O0 I* E
: {8 x) y2 p6 j" m0 gHe/she has experience in community-based case management/assessment, is able to demonstrate a good understanding of the needs of older people, is knowledgeable of community resources & services related to older people, is self-motivated/able to work as part of a team, has excellent communication & problem solving skills, has familiarity/experience with issues related to senior volunteers and is computer literate especially with MS Word & Excel.+ I. x4 U3 f/ T. q9 x1 I
