Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and 8 R5 m F' f# w) C
execution of the YWCA Strategy 5 Z2 z5 y8 Q/ i ]5 j7 h0 w
/ o6 B- g' h# R5 n% R. ~- ?Specific responsibilities include: ! E+ N- }: I p% S4 O! S- I
9 ]; T/ i% }6 U1 g0 S• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
- k7 z W$ s, S5 [7 S1 W- ?; ethe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by " ^' @) V- ~2 u' F7 n3 V
the Board of Directors;
( H/ e. ?5 e9 p+ j0 V. D1 D• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
T; }2 x2 O" T) vincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 }0 {8 T l" z+ o
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;

objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
* K2 b. [) h' W& y- z$ U, Cthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
# u+ A) N% B6 c' O) Y( V• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
' }; J$ V: A: U6 o, tchanging needs of the organization and community;
7 d4 ~0 \' ?& X+ e# F8 D ]• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
8 k7 M; S2 t, ?; G. xcommitments;
+ g% K* a+ f& r! ] j• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; / ~- E- M9 d7 T
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ! Z* ?( p0 ^0 m
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 h# p$ O1 l4 q• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
. }+ v8 G5 W# M$ K+ `• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 7 x# {: o# T9 o
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
2 \! U' s. y3 b' K L) J. u• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 Q' V }: }, b) @1 X6 T' q" ?' L4 aperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED . i' ^. M' j$ n8 K: h6 v2 c
the forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of % E3 N: J7 H5 a1 ~" B

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 9 V- }8 q. Y- \ ~+ D1 O
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation # p) w5 m9 ^3 Y0 y6 c( h" Z

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

centered perspective.
