The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

/ _! x8 J: h* S$ ^- U) V# L• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of " r# ]* G- D7 F* d8 d. f
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
& z5 C2 l' L9 L+ R |6 n6 Hthe Board of Directors;

including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to : \: _! w5 F; p+ B' S. [
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
W/ @3 q! |% e• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and $ \! w0 t8 }: \4 r0 U
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; - X( b# @' c6 A2 I" A, g W7 _
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
( E' W; \4 E) ?6 z8 o# Mthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
( \! t0 I; r2 X) y4 p d8 M• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the - b2 M) ~7 o J* M' T; o4 G6 @
changing needs of the organization and community;
4 h# J* x' J# ?# M- }• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 3 i9 E; d' n& a/ _- U

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 7 P9 r7 @; w3 W' e
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
" v3 B& K% @; g% b6 [; d; Aselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
4 Y! P( p) G; m% C' x5 j4 E6 n' g• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

effectively and positively represent the association;

7 N5 D( i2 R! o• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring " j" d! d9 O' r* z! ^
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
4 v/ \9 J+ Z& t9 x7 ^- \• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 6 F4 k' R, q1 ^6 I2 `: X5 p
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ' m* H" c+ U H' Y
the forthcoming year;
7 b n' Y J& I" R2 ^1 A• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
" g+ ?8 o2 H! A. \7 ~practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ' \% \5 y7 a% ]: R2 s

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
$ m; Q/ ~% a7 o# {; h: `6 D; \• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ! j" I& t( [. \: u& ]; V# |
abilities;
