The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and # X* g3 e8 ~- p& \1 N
execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of $ G- h9 m9 ^! e7 v: p% k
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 1 ^! f$ V* T* Q- c2 V, {% h, b
the Board of Directors; " }' N2 s) Y: U5 F2 T: o+ E U
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
% X% x G: }7 vincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
& j3 ~" P4 ~9 R" Z# Penable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
# t* F% i* c" s+ R• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
. N; k0 a( D6 P% Cobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 m' n- Y% N- P7 f( A4 Q

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
- q% I) V+ F2 O( E1 k( S• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
$ [. F7 G3 O( H$ U* H6 gthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ' `# C! `5 G- _1 D
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ( s( y$ h# v: B" ?
changing needs of the organization and community;
/ w; x) s" a, J c+ H3 {' D1 D• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 5 y7 R0 V& p4 C A6 {8 ]$ x
commitments; 2 i" r: z) f$ Y% t2 M) y
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;

selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; $ l0 m, d$ w' I/ ]) j3 d |; w
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 6 `% t& F& G R
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 T( W o# H' L" Q5 X
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
8 L. I7 F2 ^8 D8 E3 R8 H6 `• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
) g; ^" J" V1 _3 Nperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

* W* O+ a9 h# M6 @; K• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 2 |+ ]) A# X( T7 y

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. * ~+ ]1 j* k0 h- U9 A( N' ^

i% T# J n" z. T K1 X• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
9 |: E/ N5 a: q' S& s) h& S' o• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
+ x( F; h9 \( x3 eabilities; 5 L4 @5 O" t1 B' f0 y' I9 _
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 0 P& g z$ B1 U0 j d: j
Networking and Fundraising; * f; f, |& j }
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
% p0 H" p% l3 D6 Hand financial statements; and ) V& ^1 w. d* S* |) t
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
