The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.( @' f! d6 _% X4 R

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers( R& ~8 f r6 p2 P
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution 0 @$ C$ F* h3 n. f
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation% E# Q6 K; U, H7 a+ Q+ o, @4 @
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times% Y( a/ ]7 s0 E6 T2 @0 V" S% R
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk7 o4 C+ }9 q" O% P# c* {
§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert( z+ w0 D* L3 p- r; r
§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties

§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience

§ Fundamental commitment to customer service' F" x N6 N* l
§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues, M6 z4 c0 f% H$ u
§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware
, G e' r2 @! v§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software

K* k§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems

The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto). 2 w @! c% L" d" l

§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
+ x2 p. h2 Y# G) M) B§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to. Z+ W' i4 A4 X) U7 j5 M5 U
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
+ k- {. d! o7 ?§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access. G. `; c2 I2 h4 `2 q u
§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures
+ V) \. {" k1 t, t, B$ U- p§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan

§ Manage user ID request and approval process in conjunction with Director of Finance
