Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
- C- g4 S% M. Y$ p* q6 x& G7 x, W After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.
+ X1 W7 i* C7 o6 J4 X6 A' U) PIt is a cycle.

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.
: L* G1 M6 x, O: @Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
, n$ T p8 |/ f, u! `The problem should be inside the bucket.

4 f8 b8 h$ X) B0 }2 KWhen the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.: F& ^ h* T# D# @+ w
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
9 x2 ^" t7 A# r, e7 S1 p3 FConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same. S+ W3 X! _- }6 L! @& S

The next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.8 J ]5 O4 I6 A% p W* Y4 |
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.$ } o# u' D! i
It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.

The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.
