CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.: W& o. m% J4 [9 v( Q

2 m9 h# W) [8 nThe energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.

& q' }8 z7 V6 ~. _Suncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.. \& x( x5 Z; G

According to Reuters, Suncor could not specify how much crude the unit was producing before the incident.
