CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.

The energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.9 X+ W" I: E$ ?, Z4 D
2 W! M% N- B, sSuncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.
