Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
) J+ j. `1 Y  q8 o, T' bMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
+ Y! @- i3 Z2 G3 g% Z3 RMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
) V' L# P0 s& f# W4 d' ]Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
7 _3 ^- A4 T9 o" x6 @Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
& K  h2 ~6 W6 O. pComputer skills an asset.
) K) b1 M; |# I5 n0 Y, o& L8 _An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
