Responsibilities
9 S' w2 B2 `, r! K3 q# RAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
7 [) D* j; o0 D4 A. MMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
/ q( P- X! @1 cMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
1 O0 G) \- b, S8 d' A8 @Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
+ f: S0 h$ \- K5 a1 f  B: EQualifications
$ F& e2 f: L6 B+ A" EMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
  E- F. x) F. ^7 q* W5 MComputer skills an asset.
An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
* R! F6 Y: i$ W$ h4 vProficiency in a second language is an asset.
