Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
" N9 `0 |  I3 o: L& Y+ HMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
/ ?: p5 `; N9 g- E% K' N% H$ IMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
: G% ?  s. n$ z' S7 u" U' x$ G* X' ~7 WIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
- z# A' X, ?, m3 k; vMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
! x! a3 a: ?) n; G' FComputer skills an asset.
An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
