Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

Responsibilities:) H5 a# d9 M$ k; K# V* a; L/ F
- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
. v/ D. u, \& z( W1 v: ~( j$ M+ w- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling% T3 J( n9 J* H2 h
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
. p" v g* i' i( c/ M- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs* L/ |+ }/ w5 D/ b( `% _
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:' U' ] {! X5 ]( a/ f, W( Z0 P
- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
; z& @4 _+ d2 F. i: S# j. h- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
2 @! c4 ]% n+ K' S- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others* B, I( _$ i3 H9 w$ Q
- Experience doing program development% e( H1 e, l; `2 h2 X; C( U' z
- Strong organizational and coordination skills- [% _ _* H0 r6 x
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
- }5 r3 D; B) _* X" G- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
0 [) O7 w5 C7 z' T6 Y- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license+ Q7 x% m% S! G! w7 p

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation2 [; E K; r( a! Z3 e
- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
