- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth8 q0 Q) _5 ^8 k- y" L
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling* F: F7 T3 e$ v! Z7 t. Y
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
* @' N3 C! C" ~- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs) r) D* J) A( t3 P- j" y& p4 R+ _
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health0 ^) l$ r, M& g3 f
) O5 x7 p, p1 F" a8 b1 f( k
& R; K$ [# a! J9 f$ @" a" hKey Qualifications:
" ]# p: \5 x5 r& p- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
( N$ m$ W9 P/ N" x, [: s- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement/ S+ I* b5 I$ t# @$ E& B. \+ B
- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others$ L9 k' |2 q( y# g7 c
- Experience doing program development+ [; v% a2 I( V9 y: o! r! f7 ?' C
- Strong organizational and coordination skills7 a& K$ a$ _* ^' s' z4 I
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
+ S' t/ N, L1 ^- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset* f/ ?% m# W* \: b7 j3 ?2 S) }
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license% O: v3 M" ^: x

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation

- Some evening and weekend work may be required
