Responsibilities:7 T8 Q8 b: M3 y( Y
- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth# X& _4 m# o5 @9 {0 e
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
( I+ |/ W3 U, S9 ]) n! X t; a- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups; e# i* W- |/ w
- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
2 b2 v# f+ W& H3 b4 V9 [( ]* j+ F# L- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
# k y4 f: p0 P" B) t- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
; s: L5 d$ Q; {- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others. i# P) E5 v: u. x3 N% M
- Experience doing program development
( o0 a z) k) W6 |0 N$ g9 T' F- Strong organizational and coordination skills! ^: l3 ^! U& l
- Self-directed and able to take initiative9 e6 x4 P; o$ {0 r# }/ y/ a
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
+ s! T: x: w2 S( m4 F5 u, v, A% `" g- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license4 W) z/ q& f7 ?2 T! x, l* `# l

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
0 u: g7 V# T) H; I: F0 g- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
1 \' I) Z" s# i9 g# _+ B- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health

- Some evening and weekend work may be required
