To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:5 f6 I8 L3 i$ ^$ p4 o
8 ]' M1 n! K4 W& V/ q7 M, ]have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician , M* J/ R) H& a6 u
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.5 |+ e6 S1 H5 T" B' S z

complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office

e7 ]) e1 W7 H0 Q+ fpay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above 4 }3 r: B8 V1 s5 N8 V$ u* D
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
