4 I( S. y* E4 D3 G( C( U* m7 D' _This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.% u2 F- e1 S7 B K8 _" z+ E8 b
Eligibility Criteria" n, J. Y$ S$ p2 \: K/ a3 g
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:+ u& z. L$ g2 v! W, s
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
) [, x) f, I, D: d5 F•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education; h3 \7 q: G0 P
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English" x$ l/ A2 r; \# Q t. S! @* D, j0 ?
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
: N1 t. c! I0 {; P•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
0 ~0 y3 ?: o" R- C: e6 k& Y( s•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
c1 C0 r* R, ?3 M•Be eligible to work in Canada: m ~" K/ i+ n. C$ p
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
1 ?* T" R; g$ [•Lack access to professional networks
& G$ O( T" {; O) _7 Z" C•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

1 Q9 H4 c; H; w' n/ rThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.$ q K- S( ~" P$ i+ X
