Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

7 l9 I, |5 ]1 Z( S( C; D/ {% mCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns., V/ y$ E1 d' P$ n2 K

Key administrative duties:

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public." L0 a- e1 E4 r% E# t

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

" a6 y( {9 S# x! ^8 F8 h* R; h• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.& k3 R5 K8 s) j8 o! w

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.% S3 c1 R2 w2 C! j

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.* W  f/ P4 \2 W6 o* {

  M. R' o, o) A6 q& q+ v. ~• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.5 w& C5 ^/ I& [0 u8 f& `

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

" G" Q. T: V: ~) _• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.- [  ]' N/ Q$ e4 Z5 b" `/ [

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.+ P1 X: O, U- G% z

: k6 M( {+ e5 a& [• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.6 P5 O6 k8 m6 o5 c$ ?$ ~

' X4 A+ R" R8 H  }: f, f; A% o• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

3 u' u5 _6 q7 ySkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development." h7 n' h- @, T. q& p

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
