Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

N+ @% g6 V4 RCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.+ j3 u& V" w6 Z5 Z" _7 P

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.* p: E2 d1 F1 F H% J6 Y

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.7 h0 g# a j) j1 S& r+ J

" s/ _( Q$ p- h& f S• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.) e- ~. E9 o) W
* K3 k: s9 r0 e" Y7 J• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions8 p0 F; U) Q9 w$ A( D0 w" d' H
' [ {, h- w( T: w• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.3 M' m* I& H2 d/ z7 G* a

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting( z% Z( }" B0 U9 Y0 ]7 W

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.+ i# u5 i) B* `2 W+ z/ F2 z) B! w
5 K m0 p: ^1 bSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
