Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
1 ]1 e8 p5 n M/ m( TEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: * K: o% j7 t# S# U+ M. y8 G) @% A

Duties: Special Events - l, L+ Q- B' A7 n
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
' Y! l1 i, Z Y· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 6 [, r! |3 n }6 m! ~% b, |
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 8 M% H: x, `: q" j
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
' L- n% \ Q0 K" wadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ! [' w6 M4 \, V' `, J5 z
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 2 b0 e9 M, @3 h2 `0 f
· Attend and manage Special Events
/ l D8 j% O7 Y· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee + O( g* C/ |* a

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
; w3 P6 q. I4 S, Z. V; e4 wAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 1 E+ h, g4 T1 X' y/ l/ j6 A' T
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions * S- m9 M- K8 y
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers ) |, U. i3 V( [# }4 Z# d
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
4 D0 J/ G3 x) s% \' R. M1 p8 C# d· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
4 x# L7 D$ `; M" s- L+ N· Complete program administration, statistics and records

& Y7 B$ I7 u( ^Qualifications: 9 e5 \8 d% O: Z
· Completion of 12th
% t2 I5 x1 p0 c9 `+ V! r( j Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
& R; s6 x' @0 }3 h! J: HAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
8 `9 d: X* i+ [· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
* t1 y+ [) V0 @/ {( Xexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
: B/ k& B8 o g. ^· Experience working with and managing volunteers
& Z9 M( G( Y9 h# ^7 j5 l. w2 J9 u· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
% t0 T' B' f2 X O/ e· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 8 L7 {' i" A' Z r2 T. `* `' s+ s$ V
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
