Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Duties: Special Events
# ~- V( k+ u- E( kPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
7 e/ b9 F$ X* M# R; [· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee I- }5 j3 a# R' `; n
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist * _$ J3 z. G0 j) V
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 8 \& t$ d. t+ {) |7 M
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure " p' ?" G. G& m7 z( m
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. * w2 O1 V4 V. `7 Y4 B
· Attend and manage Special Events
+ P; m9 o$ L# m+ A9 K· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee * b4 i, N6 x+ Y0 T) O

Duties: Volunteer Coordination % L* R3 @- g4 X. A. L: Q) G+ A
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
' x3 Q h0 w" x9 h· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
+ W9 [+ \& |$ I; \) u· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 4 R7 s! Z& \. ~$ T$ G
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
" y9 M8 Q" O! I5 s. M· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers ' w* Y: j3 m& s4 Y5 `
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

+ g+ c M/ m; }Qualifications: 9 L0 D2 N; b$ L0 b
· Completion of 12th# S3 o# p0 N6 E" C- g6 e
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
9 U7 @7 R. j7 r# f0 x( q3 T7 b2 U; R/ ?Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
2 c5 i' Z! s! ^· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct * i9 Q0 F# v. A' c* h
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 8 r/ g$ [9 Y, J$ p0 o: ]
· Experience working with and managing volunteers ' c( ?' T- a6 t+ v w/ X' I9 \# s
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
* U7 ?2 {/ I! D% X# \) l& ]· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
! A1 c- E$ p% F9 E· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 2 J2 T/ s) Z% ^/ I
· Security Clearance
