Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
# z* u/ M, l" J5 C! HEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 6 ]- i' k" H9 z, f# }
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
1 T' V/ D% q8 K4 |# R6 k" O· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
5 J3 F/ n7 A$ e8 \$ W& {7 O6 B \with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
4 j% k3 f7 \) ?7 @8 q2 qadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
) ~% V; d, Y! `) R; zset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. % ^, z8 P. f& }; J5 C
· Attend and manage Special Events 7 p3 z9 P; r3 W. q6 q" X% i
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

1 ]- Y! B! e/ z \Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 6 {* H9 Y6 m0 h1 {
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 6 p3 R1 f6 s* o2 H) l# F7 L; T
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
: G0 j+ \' a; v· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
" b) H$ k+ G9 m: A2 }· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers " i9 M6 [. t5 F2 ~
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

· Completion of 12th: B) I0 |" e. [8 Q- v: [
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation " k/ z, F, |2 `0 p- V2 a9 e
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. $ Y# w" S7 T% G* Z
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct B7 Y/ T% X* d3 T( H3 T0 U
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events ) L; K. h+ K" V
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
6 k( K N+ A4 D% b· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
0 @% N3 h/ h% y· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
8 u' L" w' I7 q8 z2 B* x· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 8 B, b# ?9 N! c% n9 C
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
