Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: - N% F5 f' |9 J7 z0 M0 R* A
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
% @& ~, K" _4 b· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 0 }3 F* T$ z8 d( R/ c
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 3 C9 M3 l( \; o
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
1 L) Q: v g8 O7 @6 Rset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Duties: Volunteer Coordination ! e# X6 N# a# a0 R+ {
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
9 ~5 g+ G y P( ~; B' [· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions + U9 E+ p4 s: q8 ]: A
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 5 F( e! P) ~; t8 |" c' |
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers # ^8 n& W6 H) s3 c
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
! F! J. d; g0 p2 |" o. L· Complete program administration, statistics and records 9 O6 N# v) n: o, H# K* s& s
/ w1 t) S0 x U2 b9 E, H3 ?! O1 mQualifications:
, K3 q, N8 p" B% X· Completion of 12th' k- S& r. t! ?5 `
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation : p- c/ N) U/ R1 z: ~4 l
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. $ F( H2 k' A6 F
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 3 ^0 d$ k! ~1 L; |, |, _
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events

· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 3 ~" T6 l; h) {+ p0 J5 D
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events / Q/ z( K" M' {6 O7 v
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 7 I7 R5 P6 W1 E$ L
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
