Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
( z6 j- W8 f9 eEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
1 ]5 e3 E' u, B3 I% u· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
; t% m6 H& v1 R9 v9 Z1 g4 @ X· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist % ]% t f0 o7 K5 w
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the ) E" c/ E$ T1 k( a/ c4 u8 [
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
?2 c; n: O0 D- E+ qset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee $ p$ M8 e+ z- ^
4 L1 d$ y; r; l) e; T& qDuties: Volunteer Coordination , Q/ H/ i1 O! z( v
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
( s) F3 x9 q% j3 ~( h9 o- k5 C# t· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions * r$ Y) j9 {3 O3 _' w0 e" `6 r
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 9 F% f2 A; J' t, `5 y' j5 R
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers , u; l9 a; P1 J; R0 l# J% g' a
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
3 M& p+ F/ F6 r y' B( h5 q· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: ^) Z% v( j X7 K& a- G
· Completion of 12th7 ?! _% z- ]7 E" b; l
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
* q L: S) L1 Y3 D0 i, a0 QAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. $ B, p+ g+ E7 N; B3 E0 ]6 K( B
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
! z$ ?0 {* C" g% texperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
3 D* H3 s. B1 h" B4 q4 Z· Experience working with and managing volunteers + _# H) {/ X% K$ R0 Z
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
% i6 v! w* f5 S# G! z6 T v· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ; d: c* s& S. [" Q' s0 b
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work 8 j3 c: a' d' F& i+ y& Y
