SPECIAL EVENTS/VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
3 v5 \" Z9 V! k3 h7 X6 pEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

! r, j, y+ \7 I" E9 U' lDuties: Special Events % M! D4 r1 x( ~' r- S, P
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
! b: @/ c8 B$ Q7 x8 X1 V· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ; r- p( p, H( v
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist & J( t+ w6 F8 `/ J# u3 Z9 e# Y: H
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
# ^5 x/ s, u Madvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 4 R6 m5 @3 Q1 X* |
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

* `0 H! H) r/ g& YDuties: Volunteer Coordination 6 d# z9 }2 A, L
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
, B7 r9 r$ J w' u· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
/ H# l" q$ X# J/ f0 |· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
2 e- T( v! X. t1 [+ Q) @· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
, t) `0 T4 r+ Q( R· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers - F3 b' ~- [" _' J4 d2 R! g
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: % Z9 o3 \% m [1 U8 P8 j
· Completion of 12th7 K0 U \0 g* g! o' c, {
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
, G; I( V3 Q9 w, G) I) y9 bAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
9 B. T" @8 h% w8 u( s· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct : R0 n5 o7 z4 d
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
7 A2 }( d2 o/ B, f- b1 N· Experience working with and managing volunteers 9 m* z2 a1 g6 a
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors # h9 R+ B; _ s$ x9 u
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ; G- C6 g1 A. t% M+ F/ ~& e9 w
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training # s* E; l! X: s6 n4 [
· Security Clearance
