Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 7 C4 ?5 ?5 w# H7 x
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 5 X+ ] h9 X7 x) ?

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
( h9 c$ u J* F* O% r· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
- Q; Z8 M% \. K+ S; d8 \6 s4 Y· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist . c+ }: q6 I6 G# k" d+ S' s
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 4 g4 _7 [- s8 W% T) p7 W
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
( i* m4 m2 I5 D9 Mset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. $ d1 @* C8 \& p0 `* Q" x6 q
· Attend and manage Special Events ( j4 R: Y r. u7 h" d
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination , o; F0 |. I4 O# ^5 }& {+ c
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
3 v! x" u7 G: B· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions . }8 f. h i$ D+ V5 G% }1 e
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
9 X) p2 J# D0 P: y+ O- k· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers % w+ O% \" d) T) W/ z4 [; [
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers

7 M- c1 u7 A. ^: B5 o· Completion of 12th- Y+ P( p3 o7 R C M
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ' ^; f! Y( ^( @+ L* f% n) n
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ; s( e: L8 z% j q) e
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct ' `$ Z, ^ @) y$ ?& @
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
; M- i! D9 b1 ?· Experience working with and managing volunteers
; w! o U; l# v3 x7 N3 V· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors - v1 V+ l) w1 V X$ z5 w( ^# n6 V
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 7 P: ~0 H4 }/ H
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
$ l& e7 k" g" j+ s) ^· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
