Duties, \ W5 N4 W+ ~3 G8 p% T3 y; m5 t

* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory4 u4 M7 D M8 E1 Y7 V% x6 \
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
. V y& o3 `4 [& Y: v7 v" |7 m1 j- f * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps/ u# w% n) V: q( R8 O8 `9 r$ Q
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
* N9 D$ C. f: J4 b * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations( x- E m) ^4 @* M8 X
+ I* z# @: D& v
Qualifications% t" U# a% y4 O1 g0 H/ I6 C
, e9 G& ~- }1 b0 J& z: ^ * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
# Z! E) X$ y/ m; E1 b4 ?( ~/ X5 \+ V. ` * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation' j7 q& ~/ @2 _( \
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers! j" \4 j$ O& O5 y5 }
* WHMIS training
! R- \8 f3 F2 f+ n5 u * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset1 [3 V5 W# ]9 G& j) M1 ?
