Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff

( m; T1 v- N, u! E) h. B- FKey Responsibilities Include:
% Y0 m/ T; g1 O+ \4 F/ BActivity Planning and Daily Activity: ^$ S- y( v; u4 B; V+ a/ t
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
q9 }: H5 t# X6 A• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 3 q' |9 p: R, s/ N+ G# E6 R
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
s: i1 u [5 p; `4 h! C7 k• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.- g# Z* k7 J* Y1 U8 y# O0 |
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
+ S, Y9 c# b' }& H& n4 S' {4 ?• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.4 Y5 K0 P: ^$ y& o1 f# D1 a4 w
J- _& N3 ?- v8 G" V# S, U7 ^! |; cThe successful candidate will have:
- E+ c @5 f' h/ ?) f* v• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
; U7 R7 C% M" ?2 r# A' b• Experience with children X8 W [4 S1 T$ `
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
: |: s# @2 A" j# E• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
7 u! }9 f/ c8 T• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.+ {/ J6 @7 @; X
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
/ h% b( H6 L8 I• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check * a, F, F R1 J
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 2 E: G, D' l9 N$ h/ Y3 }3 Y
