Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:
" n! Z5 l5 D+ U: D& {! t! m- w9 z6 QActivity Planning and Daily Activity
- n# }) w. M, l• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
5 U) L: ^! a( A• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
& l* O: u$ h% u# _• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, , _2 F. [, v& Y( {" ]2 C) R" i
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.7 L' q z. N0 I6 b4 Y' L) q4 l
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
& c& \* G+ I4 \/ s; `$ y• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
8 h+ _. v, o' J2 i& c# O• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting4 R3 V7 O/ O, K1 S
• Experience with children% h6 _' p# Q! e$ Y* O
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ( w0 E. a' p; L. b, j
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
% y$ _ I g: l' ]4 E, |, c• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
, u0 |/ e2 a( ~) e( r& x# w• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
/ C+ s0 r7 u9 ~* c9 {, y• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
0 r( V6 e' ^: D6 z. f8 ?• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 6 M4 l3 h/ q4 o- }# ^
