Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. 7 Y! Y" C4 L! p2 v0 E' J9 x

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students 2 k# n) k3 K- O( a0 `) e+ z; d$ v
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)( u) \0 }! X9 K3 T# H/ n
5 J* W/ V1 @7 uKey Responsibilities Include7 X! P; O: [) E+ i+ n# e
Activity Planning and Daily Activity/ @) [/ K% P# ^6 @8 k- q1 q# q3 Z( k
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
; M7 A2 v: N2 S. }• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
+ \( ~/ @- \3 {8 ?7 \• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
- _4 q3 m9 b! c5 M0 ^• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.

• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal./ k3 j" }# f- x& u8 p

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting0 q& Q$ C2 C1 H, S) S2 ?% k' Z
• Experience with children5 V* b/ y! f1 W. Q1 f" y& b3 V
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 2 J: |2 W% }! ^% G4 O7 @
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.; g' X' o/ H! T% H7 }6 f; k
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.8 _, @+ R9 f8 \ @, _# F Z
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
% \" E8 ? b @7 }, B E• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
" `7 G" H B" r% S- ?• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
