Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. 5 I* M3 [* ?% L/ \; S A/ ~

(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

. A: ~* k7 ]8 KActivity Planning and Daily Activity$ K4 R1 n6 y2 P5 ~
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.1 z) e* c& O" ]8 V1 [
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
3 y7 D) \2 y- m2 Q2 S• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
. P1 m/ N3 F9 \5 r• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.% i* j4 b. [) g: d( J, y3 m+ w
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
3 J# r$ u9 n9 D0 z• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting) l" X- h$ a# o' q% }- n# v! L) p; H6 p
• Experience with children0 F/ v3 `0 h8 I! q$ G7 o, S
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
" n% a, ^4 D f3 Q% x4 a% w• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
7 O6 ^0 O u, `# X5 p0 t• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
" X! x% p9 ?: X" P6 H6 s• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
