Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
! G7 p% I1 r4 ]2 F(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school): X& g4 b* ]* G1 w* k8 q9 h" i& p

Key Responsibilities Include
- Z/ }2 X/ o n# jActivity Planning and Daily Activity
/ k$ H& K% T D7 a, ~( `! r& t% i• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.* g' b( @ B+ F0 C: @ y3 ~- ^! s
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 7 g) ^# q b- m4 l7 `
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
* p4 q$ K3 ^- Q. f1 o• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
/ O$ @- p: F/ [# n! b: D• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
, o. X7 ?' P3 V% [9 K9 c1 t) q• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting' X8 W8 ^: G4 K: C |
• Experience with children
# A9 ^+ T; o! h( R7 k) K1 q• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth : g9 E D6 K% ?* Q t
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.' m8 g" }0 j: W! Z% |6 A1 r
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented./ h/ O! h" [6 T1 F& A9 D
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources* P& F$ O0 v$ d) [; ?4 K
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check ) `! a3 Y. C k2 p) A
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
