* T- Q& l9 [3 p8 c. a$ ], `Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

% g+ z3 i3 u' {(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)5 E. k" H/ d: U5 I2 m; V* Z

Activity Planning and Daily Activity+ a3 Y6 u( q$ z% p: t1 i
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.; M8 a# e6 h% J* g. t
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. # f q4 k1 S4 R" J s0 _' ]! C3 O5 A
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
; a* g. M0 H$ a' L Z& W& _/ U• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
6 n8 W" t$ m6 U• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.2 |5 w4 K- H7 Q1 [# |8 y: E
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:5 [0 [9 M0 W. N: L
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
% m' I; y+ _) `1 H, y• Experience with children
; e/ ?: Z% ?3 ^; _; N. T2 i• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
' ]+ V- N" g* `" C4 T# }/ N" N% a+ [• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.) ^+ W7 q# P @ o6 e; ` I0 c
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.# |! _( ?4 b h1 G& B& X
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources0 y9 g" G) [ k
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
0 g- P0 W7 X& j% }• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
