FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
' e# _0 x7 z- f4 f" p3 Rsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

, a( q$ _  b  xFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
& W6 \: V+ _+ f& H  {" `resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
; }  ~2 f, v$ A4 R7 \% L3 nAlberta.

2 J& C+ t4 B" @- C1 `; C8 u! V. zJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
, e" z$ X' `8 I. q' Z( J2 UFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
6 {! v) t$ L: r& i% y& k9 Kwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
. d2 H3 `, _& X1 d- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
/ p7 w& V; P' X. ?% j% l- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

6 Q9 U) S  H1 v& v* q, S% u& A3 {secondary training, university preferred
2 v7 D, @7 l8 ]- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
8 I. W* w, L) T, B1 n- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

: T& G- o4 k  hQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 h4 T* z/ B6 e- Strong organizational skills
2 D) y% _+ \! i+ g0 U( s- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
