whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media m& X) D$ ^7 R2 J& S3 z

" Z7 o V/ T4 |( W8 E5 TFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ) q* C+ \. v' t
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % e2 S( S( X5 q0 s) ~* T8 K" X
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 1 }( C8 p# Y1 c& G
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: R( z" v/ O1 dscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

+ i/ |. i P9 C1 H" o+ s, {Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
: n1 R3 t5 _) D8 a& iDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by % ?) z# V6 B/ M( H% h/ k* J
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

' J& K2 `& ^! @- Assist with research on acquisition grants % t1 t8 l& A# W
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
7 i" C S' q8 p6 J$ C- Assist with equipment maintenance 1 l! `! O4 s& _4 j* c& n
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- {* Q7 r: I. s. j( Y, [- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 9 U2 S0 K* g8 ]" v9 ~* ^
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts % R! D$ Y9 Q/ ]! c/ ]# ~% f
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Strong team player abilities 1 O* x/ [! F- t! p6 D* C. Z( a
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
