FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ' e, P6 Q6 q( T4 k& ?" @" W: e
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
( I* t1 ` o3 {artists from Northern Alberta. 0 i# u7 N2 Z' E# U8 v3 k7 {

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
; l, ^! B1 _0 Memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 T* S# {( c( F6 k
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 F) P- r" @. j$ M6 A
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and / p% \' J& x3 {4 e- H. W+ N/ G
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive . K5 a* o$ l8 h. `* b/ Y7 ?4 Y* ^5 p
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
0 x' a/ J6 X2 e/ m, ]assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

1 D- A0 \5 K" `. l7 \# w. U- Assist with research on acquisition grants
3 H, b* C) ^3 O3 ~/ d- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities . h6 T2 C* a9 S7 D
- Assist with equipment maintenance
, }: q* O8 K6 o1 h1 \( }, ?- Assist with production logistics for programming events 9 N0 D8 h3 l& X7 V6 ?
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
7 ~/ i' A8 W1 N% b- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( q. A/ F6 l& p+ e- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment - \0 @ [2 ?) _
- Advance organizational and research skills
. R; r: F0 ~2 H% a O% V) q& @% k- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
