FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta. # |- A9 C' }' I7 f$ k3 J

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 P" S) k; O. l! D/ w$ memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video # F; j& H+ o% \/ S( o
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
) T9 ~8 c7 L* {resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
2 w2 G8 n$ N! l' UDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by $ s; v' G- k' W. b# K+ d, U/ j
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

/ W. e6 B! N0 e0 |' a- R, j8 u0 ?- Assist with research on acquisition grants ' k2 ]) f1 h4 `2 Y6 p0 J8 s
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities " x3 \! T0 L! y2 u1 N7 g$ D1 Q. W
- Assist with equipment maintenance , _' I- L; o" s2 h* s+ c& W( j
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
8 K0 V; ~0 O/ f& o' C+ O! ^4 ~% |- y- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
! W V/ A5 \% D2 N4 t2 L M6 L2 t2 o: @* o- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable , c8 G/ L9 K9 ~, f

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ( T3 e j0 F' I3 }0 K
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

2 k( _& V o3 \% K- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts / k# B2 K( z& {8 k% |& L
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
7 e% C2 V x9 q* _9 Q- Advance organizational and research skills 8 \& G6 e1 z1 P
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ) B* A6 O' M$ |1 S- h2 \6 T! Y
- Strong team player abilities
