FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ' N) A' a2 v% Q" p/ `7 K8 k
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
+ i+ w+ n/ ]. N9 V2 Vartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from A* s) N& a3 ]5 c
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video + E+ f5 V, }: l% [! s1 L
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
_' x% f* ~3 E% G* dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and * z2 B M4 w) i* H0 t( w M8 r
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

! s* `- M8 k2 C4 b3 p E7 {Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
& ~. P7 V1 y3 |/ O( oassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
8 M. I- B- O4 H# @1 l2 l: u- Assist with research on acquisition grants
, W! X1 R& i/ Y/ ^6 x- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 4 Z3 c. I, O$ a- B+ z
- Assist with equipment maintenance
' @7 q" r2 g! v, O- Assist with production logistics for programming events 2 l( T# N% s [6 V) m l
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff - T% g% u1 v; p5 s& B
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: V) {5 O7 Y. S& `+ W) t5 J
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
: i; W2 T: T* E- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 7 `5 e/ o* U' k
- Advance organizational and research skills
