Position title: Community Development Worker
' `0 G" N/ d0 f2 N; C! S4 O, oTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
! P4 d  j2 K& GJob Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
" V; |+ t5 R; z& b; o        provide services for Chinese community
  \4 l) [5 ?  ~4 P6 ]-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
( z7 ^/ `9 s% S9 N) s; y        access to mainstream services
2 _( X$ u" e( B-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
7 Y) L9 K- g5 F! ]4 |' H+ x-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
+ {/ b* i7 D4 Q% J-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
" d- T. _( |9 @- G% J-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

! F3 ?" X; a- c3 }7 ~Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
+ P  O2 g) u. n, O2 H+ I, d        experience and education
& b* V& t8 i$ V; o0 n-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
8 x) e+ q* t$ v9 g9 G-        experience in community work and immigrant services
8 W# y: G) r& y% q, |) W6 h8 L% Q-        experience in website update/design
% H0 V7 G2 p: n9 \8 r! R-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
