Position title: Community Development Worker
: S( Z8 W# q( d& [- b# s) FTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

provide services for Chinese community
0 }7 B5 o, r3 K- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
+ k3 f# m/ s0 ^# s access to mainstream services v: U8 y7 j7 }2 o
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
7 }4 L2 U& u8 Y$ w) w5 o4 _0 m social services
7 ], E( j+ U3 D D# ]3 c* s. e- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies$ R6 w5 W: Z3 {
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
6 |" t! N; S% j% E g- update ASSIST website9 A( T- r+ `% S H- ?; Q
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
$ i: C% H; V2 C [& g" w& }5 K/ a3 @- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
/ ^6 `" X/ S: q0 P% w2 H: S l+ ~) k- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

% D$ T7 V3 a# ?Qualifications( D8 {+ A2 i/ z3 l n
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
% } W8 \8 _4 M$ Y2 I; o experience and education
4 g/ @" P4 D* l: w5 P h- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
2 W9 c( @/ c* H1 a- experience in community work and immigrant services9 d& n4 h8 p; W8 H2 M0 l
- experience in website update/design
: S4 E- V# P7 P$ X5 {. l3 j- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
