Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
! Z' G5 e7 P& T3 |& H+ Y7 {9 K-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
7 @: Z' B- f* F" z/ C        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
7 ?: l0 U6 C! k8 v1 I7 [# j        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
" t- Z/ H- M$ O* J. R1 o+ o# ^-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
0 D& a5 V( `- B8 n  }4 P7 m; {-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
# f7 r- Z& |; A" x+ f3 w" Z9 ^-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
