Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

Responsibilities:

(ages 6 to 15)

1 m y' `! [! H# _9 g- Recruit volunteers for summer programs

- Provide orientation for parents
# m9 q# W( {5 l! Z. l& u. g- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency s; r# T, q* ^- M2 j+ b7 {2 [
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager/ x1 z! s0 v' ^2 j: `1 ~

Qualifications:& [' n; f/ u7 M/ i$ N) e7 N
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education2 `& G" m/ Y: Q, b& c O2 u, ]% S
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children8 |7 D# x( D7 {5 z& ]/ d; @
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
+ Z8 u, b7 V) x; k/ i- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities5 m$ o& C |9 Z; K$ A$ u% E
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese: i7 q; \: B' r
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
$ u( x+ j- D7 e! _; Q* U# a6 @! Y- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
4 m; O1 O- M$ ]- Returning student (should return to school after summer)! C& p% H; `; A# v8 i
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense U+ C/ M5 Q9 {) s5 ^ W

Other Information:
" a( S/ b5 R' n' H: s. d( c8 a- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) % V5 ~5 s+ x- L
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps). [! c7 F4 W# n) p- s; w
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009( d4 O# c F# F1 H1 S0 U
