Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

1 Q8 d& N3 s& }4 K: p, z0 b) \- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program 8 G8 D6 c* {3 {$ P) h6 O
(ages 6 to 15) ( E( v \5 i8 Z0 i& C4 `
- Recruit children for summer programs5 h t' x% o% h$ c# R5 y0 i
- Recruit volunteers for summer programs
$ Q& C- w' e; C- Record keeping) s7 t* {% P) k
- Provide orientation for parents
1 V7 w7 e8 t% x- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency; p' I" C) w: A- ~8 q
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:6 S( z- v6 } D- {2 k3 f# j
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education
) L2 G3 o8 L) w, H7 t5 j K: y8 }- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
( s! w7 N0 c6 z; R& A6 A- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
/ X5 L% F* v& I4 o- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities+ x! V8 ^% i- V0 H8 g4 N9 v- s7 Y
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
: {; I. p* k2 x$ u" W3 w- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
+ y# E9 d! y" D' r9 `) N9 g- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
8 J! M; w) w |, M. c- Returning student (should return to school after summer)

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) ; m) x! t( O& S" u) i9 Q! D4 _
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)9 \% C# F1 S* w) E' S- t7 {
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009

Salary
