% _. _& d6 ^! e: t% f * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications1 {7 i. K# T9 J
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
5 j& L: R& P2 v; v. m * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
O n* P9 j( |/ u. m" C! o * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
; q' Q* ^, b1 G- G * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies9 |$ E1 L+ z) K+ N, B' B
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs) b& p/ ?3 [8 z+ ^$ ^# C
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment& x+ ~( a/ ^6 B' Z [& q. K# H

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
