) s2 X' K ~# b9 {! W * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications. U/ Q% y. T- T+ Q% b( Q$ j
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
2 s) @6 l8 C& g8 W6 Z0 x * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
& i+ F$ |2 W V& h3 k# B4 a * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students # H) F! ^3 _$ d* l+ [
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies4 Z/ a+ ^3 T) g
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs( E5 s# y$ b5 J. b2 n1 i
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred, o5 l7 m! T9 T6 d
* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
