) Y$ {! r. |, T4 a5 r * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
/ [. m" w& M8 G * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
4 H& h* w' d7 x9 M5 N$ P * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
5 I0 S! P5 z7 J * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students % ?3 |$ C/ y+ Q4 d% J! x/ Y
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

: A; @9 T+ X8 c# \ * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
