& Z* M* U* \# y' \" @+ { * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications& Z' f, V; F. s: ^$ w D
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis9 o- ^5 l; t) G P7 N+ e$ b
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
. F3 K, P( h8 z0 ` * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 3 Q$ c8 e: j. [: [% ~
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies. `% s. r+ F+ E4 i
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs/ y' b$ B7 w/ j
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment9 \% v. _) [8 O+ d: o9 l, M9 s

Qualifications

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
( x* M* g% I1 d% T * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required. r6 L: J8 O% D# u! t5 U9 Q, [3 H: c
