* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
. t5 n+ V( d1 t& A( X * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
& f: T8 ]3 [9 m6 K. Q" R$ b * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance3 Q* g0 u9 r+ T% F6 Z, N
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students ! @, _$ i* E0 X+ G' k
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies- }# O% o; K; F
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs, L! I$ V4 C; O4 z. S
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

3 T& k3 H7 o7 y1 t * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
