Duties

* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications7 q6 E4 o% y) S
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis; U2 G9 K+ d. E
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
; K1 M0 B, J1 B' A8 e * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 8 M+ _, N9 [$ x( t# z& A
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

Qualifications) p7 t" y; C+ b8 ?

* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
